Best Wildcard Team
With the help of the above and Plan FPL we built the best Wildcard for Gameweek 10:
Goalkeepers
Goalkeepers continue to underwhelm so having a choice of two cheap assets every week could be a good play. Both Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez (£4.7m) and Brentford’s Mark Flekken’s (£4.5m) schedule rotates exceptionally well around each other long-term.
Defence
Wolves have some great fixtures ahead and after scoring three goals in his last four matches it appears Rayan Ait-Nouri (£4.5m) is their standout pick at the back.
Maintaining a better non-penalty expected goal involvement than any other defender in the league currently is Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.1m). Liverpool have maintained a better defence that any other side and have reasonably good fixtures ahead.
Continuing to start for Manchester City is the cheap and budget enabling Rico Lewis (£4.7m). Lewis is the cheapest route into a title contending Manchester City side but he also offers very good attacking potential, four assists already this season is evidence of that.
Enabling money elsewhere is Everton’s Vitalii Mykolenko (£4.3m) and Leicester’s Caleb Okoli (£4m). Both have great long-term fixtures and could be viable options off the bench if needed.
Midfield
Based on form and fixtures Bryan Mbeumo (£7.7m) may just be one of the best options in the game at the moment. Eight goals in just nine league matches shows just how well the Brentford penalty is performing this season.
Fulham face some poor defences ahead so investing in their cheap frontline could be wise. Their standout option is arguably Emile Smith Rowe (£5.7m) who has returned in three of his last six games.
Sitting as the second highest scoring player in the game Cole Palmer (£10.9m) seems to have picked up where he left off last season. Chelsea are the second highest scoring team in the league so far so owning their penalty taker and talisman makes sense.
A lot of the above can be said for Bukayo Saka (£10m). Arsenal’s main man has picked up at least one return in all but one of his games so far this season. This makes him one of the most consistent assets in the game currently.
Proving excellent value for money it could be hard to exclude Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers (£5.2m). Rogers has become a reliable attacker for the Unai Emery and four returns in his last five matches is reflective of that.
Forwards
There are some question marks around Erling Haaland’s (£15.4m) recent form but he still appears to be the standout captaincy option for at least the next two Gameweeks. For captaincy alone the Norwegian keeps his place.
Brentford have been in great goal scoring form so doubling up on their attack with good fixtures ahead could be hugely beneficial. To do this Yoane Wissa (£5.9m) stands out after producing a goal and an assist in his previous game.
Wolves are another side who are coming into a great period of their schedule. Leading every other forward in the game for crosses, chances created, and big chances created is Matheus Cunha (£6.5m) who netted in two of his last three matches.
