FPL: @FPLReaction’ Top three Picks for Gameweek 30

The new round of Fantasy Premier League is edging closer so we invited regular contributor and fantasy football whizz @FPLReaction to reveal his top three picks for Gameweek 30. His picks are all players he thinks are going under the radar for the round ahead.

Seeing @FPLReaction’ top three picks for Gameweek 30 could be extremely enlightening. As we approach the deadline many within the community may be unsure when it comes to which players to buy. These three picks could help bring clarity around those decisions.

Nicolas Jackson

Chelsea look like an attractive team again in terms of investment. The Blues have been extremely inconsistent this season which is a concern. However for my first pick we only really need them to be scoring goals, something they have done recently, with two or more in of their last five games.

A lot of the Chelsea appeal comes from their long-term fixtures and Double Gameweeks ahead. But, Burnley lay ahead, a team everyone should be looking to target. This is because they continue to produce some of the worst defensive data in the league.

Nicolas Jackson (£6.8m) has been frustrating for many but does seem to be settling at Chelsea. As a Chelsea fan I can visibly see that he has improved a lot since the start of the season. It’s worth noting that Jackson has also banked 12 attacking returns so far, which averages out at an attacking return every other match. Recent form is also promising as he has collected a return in each of his last three matches.

Alexander Isak

There seems to be a huge amount of strikers gaining traction from the FPL community recently. That interest is pretty justified due options like Dominic Solanke, Ollie Watkins, Erling Haaland, Rodrigo, Muniz and Darwin Nunez. But, I’ve got one more, and it’s one I am considering on my Wildcard this week.

Newcastle, similar to Chelsea have shown huge inconsistencies recently but have also impressed offensively. In fact, The Magpies netted between 2-4 goals in a huge eight of their last 10 matches. With that in mind, buying into the Newcastle frontline could be a good play. It also helps that they have good long-term fixture, including a Double Gameweek in 37.

It is that time of the season where going different could mean big gains. Because that and the above, Alexander Isak (£7.5m) could be a great pick. The absence of Callum Wilson obviously means Isak on penalty duty but his recent back-to-back goals also contributes to his overall appeal.

Alejandro Garnacho

I personally think Manchester United could have a very strong end to their campaign. The Reds come up against some of the worst defences in the league from now until the end of the season so if they can keep main man Rasmus Hojlund fit then I think they could snatch fourth place.

Manchester United are also really convincing me from an attacking sense and I imagine with the return of the man mentioned above, that could continue, especially this week. A lot of their attacking appeal comes from the fixture against Brentford ahead. Things have been really poor at the back for the Bees after conceding at least two goals in each of their last four.

Whilst Ramsus Hojlund has been fantastic, Alejandro Garnacho (£4.9m) has caught my eye, and I actually think he is a better option moving forward. Not only is he cheap but he also fills a nice gap in-between the likes of Son Heung-Min, Mohamed Salah, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka in our midfield. Five returns in his last six matches also suggests he has the form to back him as well.
