FPL: @FPLReaction’ Top Three Picks for Gameweek 12

With the new round edging closer we bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction’ (Louis) to reel off his top three picks for Gameweek 12.

The early rounds are good opportunities to get off to a great start. Here I will give you my top three picks for Gameweek 12 to try and help with that. There are some very obvious options with huge potential for the new round and whilst I will list them, I will also provide you with three different picks who I think could also do well.

The obvious options

  • Bukayo Saka (£8.6m).
  • Ollie Watkins (£8.4m).
  • Moussa Diaby (£6.8m).
  • Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m).
  • Mohamed Salah (£12.9m).
  • Erling Haaland (£14m).
  • Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m).
  • Anthony Gordon (£5.7m).
  • Son Heung-min (£9.6m).
  • Jarrod Bowen (£7.5m).

Top three picks for Gameweek 12 – Mohammed Kudus

The balance of European and Premier League football seems to be getting to David Moyes and his Hammers but they still seem to be ticking away in terms of goals scored – netting at least one in nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions.

West Ham have a good chance to continue their scoring form this week as they face Nottingham Forest. Most of their worst results have come away from home this season which is where they play in Gameweek 12.

The standout option as we have seen is Jarrod Bowen but I think Mohammed Kudus (£6.5m) could be a great pick. Many didn’t really know what Kudus was capable of prior to joining West Ham. However, I’ve been a long term follower and boy does he have quality.

Kudus bagged 14 goals/assists in his last season with Ajax domestically. That was great but his Champions League performances were even more impressive – scoring four goals and creating two assists in just six games. He also proved a real threat in the World Cup for Ghana netting twice.

I think Kudus could have huge potential going into the new round, especially with the confidence he gained from scoring in each of his last two games for West Ham.

Leandro Trossard

Arsenal will be looking for blood in their next match this week. Domestic results have not been to standard for the Gooners as they’ve dropped points to both Newcastle and Chelsea. The chances of dropping points this week look extremely slim.

It’s going to be tough for Burnley away from Turf Moor, especially when taking into account that Arsenal are much more ruthless at home. They’ve also been conceding some of the worst defensive data in the league and that’s one of the reasons they sit 19th in the league.

Whilst Gabriel Jesus is still out due to injury and replacement Eddie Nketiah is also a major doubt it could be time for Leandro Trossard (£6.5m) to shine. The Belgian has been excellent when called upon and we saw that against Sevilla in midweek where he scored. He also started up front in the same game which could continue against Burnley this week.

Evan Ferguson

Brighton were one of the best teams to invest in last season and I think, although there have been bumps in the road I think they’ll come good again for managers.

I think the biggest appeal of Brighton players this week has to be their fixture. They come up against the worst team in the league next, Sheffield United. The Blades have been woeful, results have been poor and they’re also conceding some of the worst defensive data in the league so far.

The above bodes well for the Evan Ferguson (£6m). It’s probably a good thing that Ferguson didn’t start or even feature in Europe midweek. It probably indicates that he’s going to start for me. He’s a top talent and I think leading the line against Sheffield United is something I can’t ignore. If he starts I think he’s going to do really well.
