FPL Experts Ahead of Gameweek 22

We take a look at some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 22. With the new Gameweek approaching, we check out what some of the most elite managers have been talking about in the build up whether that be players to invest in, players to avoid and more.

Looking at what some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 22 are talking about could be highly beneficial to other managers. Whether they discuss expected minutes, potential transfer targets, chip strategy or other key factors, it can all help to provide clarity within our own teams.

Luton are a team who have been impressing recently. They have shown grit and made games tight against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool. That same fight has been spearheaded by several of the Hatters key players.

One player under the spotlight is wing-back Alfie Doughty (£4.5m). As listed by Andy below Doughty has multiple factors backing him for the period ahead. Furthermore, when compared to all defenders in the last six Gameweeks Doughty also ranks the best for crosses, joint fourth for chances created, second best for big chances created and joint best for assists created.

With the news that Erling Haaland was still out recovering from injury and the likes of Mohamed Salah and Son Heung-Min also playing for their national sides, captaincy was split this week. A large proportion of the community opted for Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer (£5.8m). A lot of managers also opted for Bukayo Saka (£9.1m).

Chelsea played Fulham in Gameweek 21 and it was certainly a challenging game for them. The Blues scraped a 1-0 win due to a Cole Palmer penalty. The Chelsea talisman finished the match with a cool 10 points so Saka captainers will have to wait six days to see if he can match or better that.

Chelsea have a tough run of fixtures coming up against teams including the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham so, will Palmer become replaceable?

@FPLCrateDigger

As highlighted by Crate Digger below, Anthony Gordon (£6.1m) could well become a player many want again. The Newcastle midfielder went through a recent five-match period where he returned just once. But, with two back-to-back returns in the last two Gameweeks against Manchester City and Liverpool, Gordon could well have found his rhythm again.

In terms of his overall season Gordon has produced an impressive seven goals and five assists. He also remains in the top 10 FPL points scorers list. With fixtures against Luton, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth ahead, many within the community could have their eyers on Gordon.

@WGTA_FPL

Tom from Who Got the Assist was one of the many whom posted about Kevin De Bruyne (£10.4m) this week. The Belgian was out of action for months but featured against Newcastle. In just 21 minutes of play De Bruyne scored and created the assist to sink the Magpies and pick up an all-important three points.

De Bruyne’ 12-point cameo resulted in a stampede of managers looking to snap him up. However, as pointed out by Tom, the deadline is around 17 days away and as many within the FPL community will know, information is key.

@FplMode

We stay with the Manchester City match and bring in regular Andy. Manchester City netted three goals against Newcastle this week and two of their most popular assets, Phil Foden (£8m) and Julian Alvarez (£7m), failed to pick anything up of significance in terms of points.

The return of Kevin De Bruyne and with Erling Haaland recovering could cause concern in terms of how many minutes both play moving forward. With fixtures against Burnley, Brentford, Everton and then a double Gameweek ahead, FPL managers will not want to part ways with their Manchester City players.
