FPL: Double Gameweek 25

Double Gameweek 25 is official! We take a look at the recent Double Gameweek 25 announcement and what that could mean for Fantasy Premier League managers. We look at the teams playing, player ownership and what FPL managers have been discussing around it.

Double Gameweeks are one of the most anticipated events in the FPL calendar. A Double Gameweek is when a team plays twice in one round. This can give their assets double the potential which is why many look to target Double Gameweek players in terms of investment.

Fantasy Football Scout were one of the first to react to the news as you can see below.

Who has a Double Gameweek?

As you may have spotted in the image above, Manchester City and Brentford play two matches in Gameweek 25.

Brentford face Liverpool and Manchester City in Double Gameweek 25 and Manchester come up against Chelsea and Brentford.

Player Ownership

Below is a list of the top 10 highest owned players for both Manchester City and Brentford.

We can see that just one Brentford player makes the cut below.

Initial reaction

Fantasy Football Scout contributor Andy reacted to the Double Gameweek news on X. He stated he was thinking about using the Free Hit for it.

Using the Free Hit in Gameweek 25 would allow users to stock up on Manchester City assets, consider Brentford picks and bring back the likes of Mohamed Salah, Son Heung-Min and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

However, other managers will be happy to hold onto the Free Hit with big bigger Blank and Doble Gameweeks ahead.
