FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 2
We take a look at some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 2. With the new Gameweek approaching, we check out what some of the most elite managers have been talking about in the build up whether that be players to invest in, players to avoid and more.
Looking at what some of the FPL experts ahead of Gameweek 2 are talking about could be highly beneficial to other managers. Whether they discuss expected minutes, potential transfer targets, chip strategy or other key factors, it can all help to provide clarity within our own teams.
@FPL_Harry
Fantasy Football Scout contributor Harry provided his first team of the new season. He also highlighted one of the most controversial topics in Gameweek 1. Rumours surrounding Arsenal defender Gabriel (£5m) emerged that he was unavailable for the first round.
Many within the community scrambled to make the swap from Gabriel to fellow centre-back William Saliba (£5m) – some managed to make the swap but some didn’t. Saliba started the match as expected and managed to pick up an assist.
It is unknown whether Gabreil will be a reliable FPL asset in terms of minutes going forward. Some may even be tempted to move to another player for Gameweek 2.
@FplMode
Another Fantasy Football Scout contributor gave light to a big moment in Gameweek 1. Brighton were brilliant last season offensively and large sections of the community felt like they had to own a piece of the frontline.
Some opted for the likes of midfielder Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) but others backed striker Joao Pedro (£5.5m). The budget striker earned and scored a penalty this week providing owners with a cool seven points. With two more great fixtures ahead Pedro could well be on managers radar.
@FFScout_Tom
Regular contributor Tom enjoyed Gameweek 1 but also picked up on something of huge significance. He tweeted the departure of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5m) to Real Madrid this week. This opens up another great opportunity for FPL managers.
Kepa’ move to the Spanish giants means that new signing Robert Sanchez is almost guaranteed to take over as first choice between the sticks. Sanchez comes in at the budget friendly price of £4.5m in FPL and with great fixtures ahead, could well be an interesting option for the community.
@FPLReaction
Our very own FPL Reaction covered the Manchester City game. The Premier League holders played the opening match of the season and dismantled newly promoted side Burnley 3-0. Amongst the goals was of course striker Erling Haaland (£14m). The Norwegian managed to bag a brace helping him reach a total of 13 points in FPL.
Other noticeable absentees from the game included Manchester defenders Ruben Dias (£5.5m) and John Stones (£5.5m). Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne (£10.5m) picked up an injury during the game with rumours suggesting he could be out for several weeks.
@FPLMarcin
Content creator and experienced Fantasy Premier League manager Marcin highlighted a player who has gone under the radar at the start of the season. Newcastle started their campaign against Aston Villa. Many expected it to be a tight game but the hosts claimed a massive 5-1 victory.
Striker Alexander Isak (£7.5m) stole the show after scoring a brace and claiming a big 13 points. Another player who impressed was midfielder Harvey Barnes (£6.5m) – he picked up 11 points for his goal and assist.
Newcastle looked sharp in Gameweek 1 but they face Manchester City, Liverpool, Brighton and Brentford in the next four. With tough fixtures they could still be a team to avoid but after a performance like that, their could be a lot more interest.
