Notes

  • I scored 106 points in GW36, which was good enough for a ~300-place green arrow up to an OR of 1.9k.
  • Dan Burn and Pedro Porro were the only players who didn’t return. Although I knew Porro away at Liverpool was a likely weak link going into GW36.
  • Like many other FPL managers, I am playing my Bench Boost in DGW37. With Bruno Fernandes a doubt for the DGW, I was initially debating bringing in Kevin De Bruyne for Alejandro Garnarcho as a differential and loading up with three players from the Manchester City attack. However, that would only leave Spurs and Manchester United players (outside of SGW assets) as possible replacements for Caoimhin Kelleher and Destiny Udogie. They also need to be transferred out this week, which seems far from ideal given both teams’ defensive struggles. For that reason, I may take a more conservative approach and bring in Joško Gvardiol for Udogie, and one of Guglielmo Vicario or Andre Onana for Kelleher, with Vicario my current preference.
  • I’m also considering Jordan Pickford as I’m not crazy about either Vicario or Onana as options. However, with other managers likely to have at least 13 DGW players, taking another SGW player is potentially risky given I already own Rayan Aït-Nouri and Gabriel, particularly if Pickford fails to keep a clean sheet.
  • My squad for DGW37 will likely look like this then: Đorđe Petrović and Vicario as my goalkeepers. Aït-Nouri, Burn, Gabriel, Gvardiol and Porro are in defence. Phil Foden, Anthony Gordon, Cole Palmer, Son-Heung Min and Garnacho sit in midfield. Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak and Nicolas Jackson are my forwards. I think this looks pretty good considering I wildcarded all the way back in GW30!
  • With all 15 members my squad in play this week, my only decision is who to pick for captaincy. Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak and Cole Palmer look to be the top options. Isak has the added benefit of playing Manchester United (albeit away from home). Of those three, Haaland looks to be the standout option. Manchester City need to win both of their games to be in control of their own title destiny.
