Best players for Gameweek 19 & 20
- Chelsea – The Blues have matches against Luton and Fulham in the next two matches. This could be a great time to invest in their assets. Between the sticks Djordje Petrovic (£4.5m) could be a great option as he steps in for the injured Robert Sanchez (£4.7m). In defence Levi Colwill (£4.6m) could be a good option. He scored in his most recent match. It could also be worth monitoring right back Malo Gusto’ (£4.1m) minutes because he could well be the standout pick if he starts the next match. In attack the standout option is midfielder Cole Palmer (£5.6m). He takes his sides penalties and bagged a double-digit haul in one of his most recent matches. It could also be worth monitoring the minutes of Nicolas Jackson (£6.9m) and Christopher Nkunku (£7.3m) as they could also be very good options moving ahead.
- Aston Villa – They have meetings with Burnley and Everton in the next two matches. Because of that they could also have huge potential in the period ahead. For those with goalkeeper issues then Emiliano Martinez (£5.1m) could be a great option. In defence, centre-back Pau Torres (£4.7m) could be the best option in terms of minutes and gametime when he returns from his minor injury. For now, Ezri Konsa (£4.5m) is the cheapest and most reliable route into the backline. In attack the standout is of course striker Ollie Watkins (£8.7m). Watkins has been exceptional this season and ranks in the top four players for overall points this season. An alternative way into the Aston Villa frontline is midfielder Leon Bailey (£5.6m). He seems to be the preferred winger currently and has also managed to return in three of his last four games. A third attacking option could be midfielder Douglas Luiz (£5.5m) who takes his sides penalties.
- Arsenal – Challenging for the title this season are Arsenal who come up against Fulham and Crystal Palace next. Goalkeeper David Raya (£4.9m) could be the cheapest way into one of the best defences in the league. Centre-back Gabriel (£4.9m) plays most of his sides matches but is susceptible to being rested in any given game. The standout Arsenal defender is centre-back William Saliba (£5.5m). The Frenchman seems to be the most safest pick in terms of minutes and gametime. In attack the best option is of course midfielder Bukayo Saka (£9m). He takes his sides penalties but has also been one of the most consistent assets in the game this season. Differential picks in midfield could include the likes of Martin Odegaard (£8.4m) and Gabriel Martinelli (£7.7m). Up front the Gabriel Jesus (£8m) could be another great pick as he’s managed nine and 11 point returns in his last three games.
Who else should we be targeting?
- West Ham – The Hammers have games against Brighton and Sheffield United up next. Although inconsistent defensively West Ham are fully capable in terms of goals. They also face two of the worst defences in the league up next so it makes sense to invest in their frontline. The standout option is Jarrod Bowen (£7.8m). Bowen has picked up an impressive 11 returns this season and is their most influential attacker. A fantastic alternative to Bowen is fellow midfielder Mohammed Kudus (£6.7m). The Ghanian has produced seven returns in his last seven league matches.
- Liverpool – Liverpool seem to be challenging for the title race this season as they continue their great run of form. In defence one of the cheapest assets is Kostas Tsimikas (£4.9m) who takes corners and has created three assists in his last six matches. The more expensive option in defence is of course Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.2m) who also takes set pieces and has registered at least one return in every one of his last six matches. In terms of attack midfielder Mohamed Salah (£13.2m) is the best option as he sits as the highest scoring player in the game.
- Tottenham – They play Bournemouth and Manchester United in the next two games. Tottenham have been fantastic this season for FPL investment and that could continue in the period ahead. The standout defender pick is Pedro Porro (£5.5m). The Portuguese full-back has maintained better attacking data than any other defender in league as of late. A cheaper alternative to Porro is full-back Destiny Udogie (£4.8m) who has returned in both of his last two matches. Udogie is suspended until December 31st so potential investors may have to wait for him to return to action. In attack the standout asset is midfielder Son Heung-Min (£9.8m). Son takes penalties and has managed a huge six double-digit hauls this campaign. Two alternative picks are midfielders Richarlison (£6.7m) who has led the frontline in the last two matches and scored and also Dejan Kulusevski (£7.2m) who has collected two double-digit hauls in his last two games.
Other assets with potential
- Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) & Simon Adingra (£5m) – Both have been two of Brighton’ standout attackers this season and come up against West Ham and Wolves next up.
- Hwang Hee-Chan (£5.8m) – Wolves have meetings with Everton and Brighton next. Hwang has produced at least one return in 10 of his matches this campaign.
- Manchester City – It could be unwise to forget about Manchester City. They are struggling defensively but in attack they have plenty of options. One player who many will not go without is striker Erling Haaland (£13.9m). Other options include striker Julian Alvarez (£6.9m) and midfielder Phil Foden (£7.6m).
Should we use a chip?
We should also include the use of chips in our Fantasy Premier League planning for Gameweek 19 and 20. The most experienced managers usually use their Bench Boost, Triple Captain and Free Hit chip during medium or large blank and double Gameweeks.
