Community Team Reveal Gameweek 6 – FPL Inzaghi

Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.

Ahead of Gameweek 6, it’s the turn of FPL Inzaghi (Ryan) to tell us what is happening to his team.

Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 5 go?

35 points. It was a terrible game week – like many others – but one that compounds my worst-ever start to an FPL season. I’m currently ranked close to four millionth, although it’s not so bad when you consider it’s just 55 points away from 100k. Things are still congested but my form needs to turn around.

What does your defence look like?

I’m set up with a back three. Pervis Estupinan and Ruben Dias have favourable home fixtures but Ben Chilwell is suddenly a problem. From Mauricio Pochettino’s comments, it looks like he’s competing with Mykhailo Mudryk for the starting left-wing spot. Such words confound me after seeing how Chelsea played in pre-season but there’s no doubt that Chilwell has become a rotation risk.

Even with the promise of occasional attacking returns, when you consider the various benchings and late cameos, Chilwell’s average points across a string of Gameweeks won’t make great reading. Though he’s not an urgent sell, as I think he starts against Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?

Five are in midfield. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford are away at Burnley, Bryan Mbeumo is at home to Everton, Raheem Sterling faces Villa and Saka has the north London derby.

I’ve no interest in selling the Man United duo. Despite the team’s struggles, Rashford and Bruno remain great FPL picks with promising upcoming fixtures. I refrained from selling Saka for Son Heung-min last week but it’s a move I’ll likely make in Gameweek 8.

And I’m happy to be patient with Sterling, who has been unlucky not to return of late.

So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 6 and beyond?

I’ve rolled one transfer each time since Gameweek 2. There’s plenty of coverage on the bench with Cameron Archer, Destiny Udogie and Gabriel. I have three main options for my two free transfers:

  • Nicolas Jackson to Carlton Morris, Gabriel to Kieran Trippier (Ben Chilwell on the bench)
  • Ben Chilwell or Gabriel to Sven Botman (roll the second one)
  • Ben Chilwell or Gabriel to Sven Botman, plus Nicolas Jackson to Julian Alvarez

I’m very tempted to buy Alvarez but will take the price changes on the chin and wait to see if he’s confirmed to start against Nottingham Forest. He slightly disrupts my longer-term planning but Forest and Wolves in the next two is an appealing prospect.

These options share some common traits. Target the Newcastle defence, Jackson’s time is almost up, whilst Chilwell and Gabriel are defensive issues.

Finally, what about captaincy?

No doubt it’s Haaland. He has been wasteful in recent matches but is getting the chances and his world-class finishing qualities will inevitably shine through.

Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!

No problem. I’ll update my team on Twitter and on my YouTube channel – give me a follow, I’d love to meet you and chat FPL!
