Community Team Reveal Gameweek 25 – FPL Inzaghi
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 25, it’s the turn of FPL Inzaghi (Ryan) to tell us what is happening to his team.
Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 24 go?
88 pts and a green arrow up to 95k. I’ve been knocking on the door of the top 100k in recent weeks, so it’s nice to finally land here. The team has been performing well despite some poor decisions on my part – benching Phil Foden’s hat-trick, missing Mohamed Salah’s haul vs Newcastle, and captaining Dominic Solanke for his two measly points of Gameweek 23. But the team is in good shape for the doubles and blanks to come.
What does your defence look like?
Only one Double Gameweek player in defence, Kyle Walker. I’m confident he’ll start both as Pep will want control at home vs Chelsea (especially after their 4-4 draw at the Bridge) and Brentford play five at the back. Both Kieran Trippier and William Saliba are without a double but have excellent fixtures. With Burnley struggling to defend set pieces, I’m crossing my fingers for another Saliba headed goal!
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
Three more doublers here, taking my total to just four. I’m looking to add another in midfield but, despite this, the others have really appealing fixtures this week. Douglas Luiz is probably the main concern, as the injury to Boubacar Kamara likely means playing in a deeper role, therefore limiting his open-play attacking threat. He’s still on set-pieces and penalties but I’m looking to bench Luiz this week and bring in an extra doubler.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 25 and beyond?
Just one free transfer but £2.4m in the bank means I have a variety of options. One route is to sell Trippier and Cole Palmer for Virgil van Dijk and Diogo Jota. However, this four-point hit leaves me with one less Blank Gameweek 26 player and will force me into another hit.
So the move I’m very likely to make is Palmer to Luis Diaz. Palmer plays Man City away this week before blanking in 26 and likely 29 too. I can afford to lose him, knowing my plan is to reach Wildcard 31 without using the Free Hit. I’d prefer Jota’s explosiveness over Diaz but the Colombian plus eight points is a more logical choice. I fancy him to start twice in the double, even with the impending return of Salah.
This way, I can field 11 in Blank 26 without taking a hit. Just five doublers this week is probably less than the field but I’m hoping that not spending any points will give me an advantage when looking to climb the ranks further.
Finally, what about captaincy?
The Triple Captaincy chip is active on Erling Haaland and unless we hear news of an injury for the big Norwegian, I’m likely to keep it on him. He’s an easy choice, with two home fixtures.
Good luck and thank you for the team reveal!
No problem. I’ll update my team on Twitter and on my YouTube channel – give me a follow, I’d love to meet you and chat FPL!
