Community Team Reveal Gameweek 18 – BlackWolf
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 18, it’s the turn of BlackWolf to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Hi BlackWolf and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 17 go?
After netting 66 points, I received a 100k green arrow to take me up to 177k. Before Dominic Solanke’s points were voided, I was actually just outside of the top 100k but, unfortunately, I paid for not having a good bench as Cameron Archer was my first sub. He came on for just two points.
Cole Palmer, Jarrod Bowen and Ollie Watkins were the heroes of my Gameweek, scoring a huge 31 points between them. Although the Mohamed Salah captaincy did not pay off, my alternative of Son Heung-min scored one point less, so I will take it. Seeing Destiny Udogie receive his fifth yellow card was frustrating, as it now forces me to make a defensive transfer for Blank Gameweek 18.
What does your defence look like?
I currently have Martin Dubravka in goal and hope we see a second consecutive clean sheet with his fixture at Luton. However, the Hatters have been resilient at home and it wouldn’t surprise me if he concedes. In front of him, I have Kieran Trippier, Gabriel and Udogie – with the latter likely to be transferred out. Bench options are Issa Kabore and Ethan Pinnock and I’m hoping they’re not needed, since one faces Newcastle and the other blanks.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
My midfield currently consists of Son, Bowen, Salah, Palmer and Anthony Gordon. Unfortunately, the latter picked up an injury in the midweek cup game.
Fingers crossed he recovers in time to play but, if not, I’ll most likely just let Cameron Archer sub on rather than take a hit. Archer faces his former team Aston Villa, so perhaps it motivates him towards a goal. One can hope! Up front, I have Solanke and Watkins, both with great fixtures.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 18 and beyond?
It will either be Udogie or Pinnock making way for Pedro Porro and I am leaning towards Udogie as it gives me the superior defensive asset at Spurs, also letting me keep Pinnock for a potential Double Gameweek. I will then try to roll in Gameweek 19 before using two Gameweek 20 transfers to swap Salah and Solanke for Bukayo Saka and Erling Haaland.
Finally, what about captaincy?
It’s a toss-up between Watkins versus Sheffield United and Son against Everton. Form and fixture favours Watkins but I’m very tempted to trust Son with the armband. It will be a last-minute decision.
