Community Team Reveal Gameweek 17 – Ryan (Football Chatbox)
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 17, it’s the turn of Ryan (Football Chatbox) to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Hi Ryan and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 16 go?
Not great. I didn’t have Son Heung-min and that was the difference between a good and bad week. I’ve now gone down to 900k in rank. Hopefully I can start climbing back up this week.
What does your defence look like?
It is currently on its bare bones. Kieran Trippier and Jarrad Branthwaite are both suspended so I’ve got to play my only defenders – Kostas Tsimikas, Gabriel Magalhaes and Harry Toffolo. Plus Martin Dubravka is in goal.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
I’m hoping that Anthony Gordon will be fine for the Fulham game and that Cole Palmer will avoid getting the fifth yellow that would suspend him.
Up front, I’ve currently got Ollie Watkins and Erling Haaland. Closer to the deadline, a decision will be made on Haaland. I won’t sell him if we get news that he is available. But if we hear he’s out, I’ll sell him in a four-point hit to Dominic Solanke.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 17 and beyond?
That’s because I’ve already moved Jarrod Bowen out for Son. I was always going to buy him for this week but it’s a shame that he had to go big the week beforehand.
After these transfer(s), it’s hard to say what will be next because at this point it feels like we’re being forced into moves with all the suspensions and injuries. If I can, I’d like to get Pedro Porro but we will have to see how things go. Also, I may have to buy Haaland back for Gameweek 20, given there is a two-day rest for Man City between the Everton and Sheffield United games.
Finally, what about captaincy?
It’s currently on Mohamed Salah and I don’t see that changing at all.
