Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 27 Expert Picks and Team Reveal
We look ahead to Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 27. We bring in our regular contributor and Bundesliga Fantasy expert @FPLGunnersaurus. He reveals his team and plans for the new round. He also shares three of the best defenders, midfielders and forwards to buy this week.
Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 27 is here so getting ready for the new round could be crucial. Our top picks and expert team reveal could be hugely significant and massive contributing factors in the decisions we have to make in our own teams this week.
Note: In this article we will be focusing on the differentials only – players with a total selected by % of less than or equal to 10%, in a bid to help you beat the template and boost your rank.
Defenders – Alphonso Davies (17m / 6% TSB / FCB)
Raphael Guerriero looks set to miss out against former club Dortmund in Der Klassiker on MD27. This is due to the injury he suffered in Bayern’s 5-2 away win over MD26 opponents Darmstadt. That however paves the way for Canadian Davies to get back into the starting XI and cement a place in Tuchel’s team ahead of the Champions League quarter final ties against Arsenal.
Despite Bayern having only conceded nine goals at home this season a clean sheet against Dortmund looks unlikely. This is given due to their head to head record over recent years (plus it look like Neuer is a doubt in goal too), so we look at other sources of points for Phonzie. His highest source of points this season has come from duels, of which he has won 60% of them. Up against Donyell Malen on his flank expect there to be plenty of battles. With goals and assists also in his arsenal the roadrunner has potential haul material anytime he steps on to a football pitch.
Niels Nkounkou (10.3m / 4% TSB / SGE)
The Frankfurt Frenchman is as consistent as they come lately. Since MD16 Nkounkou has returned double-digit fantasy scores on seven occasions. Even in defeat at Dortmund on MD26 Nkounkou was Die Adler’s second highest fantasy scorer, courtesy of goal attempts and won duels. A home game against Union Berlin on MD27 presents a perfect opportunity for Frankfurt to get back to winning ways to secure what could end up being a Europa League spot for next season.
Die Eisernen have really struggled away from the Stadion An der Alten Försterei this season with nine losses and only nine goals scored on the road. A seventh clean sheet of the season could be on the cards for Frankfurt and essentially playing as an out of position winger Nkounkou has plenty of routes to return points elsewhere too. Because of this, he is an easy addition into my Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 27 top picks.
Iago (7.4m / 2% TSB / FCA)
A real differential at only 2% ownership Iago is an option for anyone in dire need of a budget defender with a favourable fixture. The Brazilian left-back is having a great season for Augsburg and could be on his way to helping Die Fuggerstädter qualify for the Europa Conference League. Augsburg have won four on the spin. Across those games Iago averages 9.5 points per game, not bad for someone who is likely to take up the last defender slot in your squad.
On MD27 Augsburg host a Köln side just trying to avoid automatic relegation. All signs point towards another Augsburg victory. Iago is not going to haul for you if you bring him in but what he does bring is a safety net of points if others fail to perform.
- Alternatives – Vagnoman (9.9m / 6% TSB / VFB) / Maehle (7.5m / 1% TSB / WOB) / Bernardo (4.5m / 10% TSB / BOC).
Midfielders – Joshua Kimmich (16.9m / 6% TSB / FCB)
Normally I would never recommend a player playing in a reverse out of position role. However in the case of Kimmich I will make an exception. Despite being classified as a midfielder the German international is back playing at right back for the record champions. Dare I say this but that looks to be benefiting both him and Bayern – to the point too where Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann used him in the same way in Germany’s recent international fixtures.
Albeit against bottom side Darmstadt Kimmich racked up 16 points on MD26 with points scored for almost every action points are scored for, barring bagging a goal. It’s Der Klassiker on MD27 when the Bundesliga season resumes. And, in the last seven league meetings Bayern have scored at least three goals in six of those. Kimmich will be whipping in balls from set-pieces so he and prospective owners will hope those on the end of them bury their chances.
Enzo Millot (10.6m / 5% TSB / VFB)
When you think of Stuttgart’s outstanding players this season most think of the likes of Guirassy, Undav and Führich. Enzo Millot’s name should be quoted under that same breath. He perhaps might not have the same attacking returns as those three. However, the French U18 international is surely having the best season of his fledgling career. Last time out on MD26 Millot returned a huge haul for owners scoring 23 points, half of which just came from goal attempts.
In a home game against Heidenheim on MD27 expect Millot to get plenty more chances to add to his winning goal against Hoffenheim. This is a real under the radar pick and with a couple of midfield slots wide open outside of the golden trio (Simons, Wirtz and Musiala) Millot could be magic.
Robin Hack (8m / 2% TSB / BMG)
In great form at the moment Hack has scored three goals in his last two games returning 27 fantasy points in the process. On MD27 Gladbach host a Freiburg side shellshocked at the new of manager Christian Streich’s retirement. Freiburg may wish to do their departing manager well but this is a Freiburg side who have lost four of their last five away games conceding 12 goals in the process.
In contrast the Foals are in great goalscoring form at home having scored eight goals in their last two. Streich may want to hack this last visit to Borussia-Park as a manager away from his memories if Robin Hack continues his flying form.
- Alternatives – Grifo (17.6m / 3% TSB / SCF) / Götze (13.1m / 1% TSB / SGE) / Skarke (5.4m / 4% TSB / SVD).
Forwards – Jonas Wind (12.6m ON SALE / 2% TSB / WOB)
This entry makes the list purely on the basis we see a new manager bounce at Wolfsburg. This comes after Niko Kovač was given the boot and was replaced by former Leipzig and Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhüttl. The Austrian has his work cut out with his newly inherited Wolfsburg side not having won a Bundesliga game this calendar year.
A MD27 away trip to Werder Bremen is a nice game for Hasenhüttl to resume his Bundesliga managerial career. That’s due to the hosts having lost two of their last three home games and drawing the other tie against bottom club Darmstadt. Hasenhüttl has been allowed two weeks without a game to try and imprint his ideology on the Wolves. One man he will be trying to get back to his early season form is Danish frontman Wind. 12 goals and six assists is not bad for a team languishing way below where they feel they should be in the Bundesliga table. He comes in on sale this week with a 1.4m saving. So, if you are feeling like having a punt you will at least make a decent chunk of change should you then sell him the following matchday.
Deniz Undav (12.1m / 10% TSB / VFB)
Undav was one of four Stuttgart players who deservedly received a call up to the German national team over the recent international break. With 14 goals and seven assists in the Bundesliga he has been the most potent German striker in the league this season. After a recent injury boss Sebastian Hoeneß has eased him back into the side and on MD26 against Hoffenheim Undav fared well enough with an assist and 12 points scored in Bundesliga Fantasy.
MD27 sees Die Schwaben host Heidenheim who have lost seven of their 13 away games this season. Meanwhile Stuttgart remain sensational at home and score for fun, now only sitting behind Bayern Munich’s 47 goals for most scored at home. Undav could be the über differential forward you need for Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 27.
Patrik Schick (11.8m / 3% TSB / B04)
With Nigerian forward Boniface due back imminently Schick’s time in Alonso’s starting XI could be up very soon. He will therefore be looking to continue his recent goalscoring form in a MD27 home game against Hoffenheim. This game, on paper at least, is a total mismatch. Leverkusen, unsurprisingly, are the Bundesliga’s best home team dropping only four points all season at the BayArena.
Hoffenheim on the other hand have really struggled away as of late. They also just sit behind Darmstadt when it comes to expected goals against away from home (1.97xGA). Leverkusen’s march towards a maiden Bundesliga championship rolls on and Schick will hope to lead the line in a game that he should have plenty of chances to put away.
- Alternatives – Marmoush (12.9m / 4% TSB / SGE) / Šeško (11.7m / 2% TSB / RBL) / Tietz (9.6m / 1% TSB / FCA).
