With a new round ahead, we take a look at Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 15 expert picks and team reveal. @FPLGunnersaurus joins us to give his top picks for the Matchday ahead whilst also sharing his squad going into the new round with his general thoughts.
Twitter is full of the most experienced fantasy football players around. Those managers can be some of the best people to look to when trying to gain clarity when making decisions within our teams. Checking out the Bundesliga Fantasy Matchday 15 expert picks and team reveal can help hugely for the round ahead.
Top Picks – Defenders – Luca Netz (7.1m / 8% TSB / BMG)
If you’re looking for a mid-priced defender with a great fixture this weekend then look no further than Gladbach’s Luca Netz. He’s been in good form lately with scores of 11 points, 21 points and nine points across his last five fixtures.
At home on MD11 against Wolfsburg he hit that season high score of 21 points and what’s to stop him doing something similar when Gladbach host Werder Bremen on Friday night? There’s a lot of value in the premium assets elsewhere this matchday so maybe Netz could help free up those all important funds to get to them in.
David Raum (12.7m / 24% TSB / RBL)
After a poor three game run by his standards where he averaged a measly 3ppg Raum is back at it with returns of 12 points and 15 points in his last two starts. He looks back to being his bombarding self down Leipzig’s left-hand side and with a home game against former club Hoffenheim it’s a chance to show them what they’ve been missing since he left.
You could make a case for teammate Henrichs (12.9m – RBL) too this matchday and I’ll own them both, given their attacking exploits so far this season.
Jordy Makengo (2.4m / 0% TSB / SCF)
The ultimate defensive differential with a 0% ownership – Makengo could be a great back up to the likes of the Leverkusen and Leipzig full-backs likely to make up a majority of our defences. In his only two league starts which have come in Freiburg’s last two games the young Frenchman has impressed picking up back-to-back clean sheets.
In both of the above games he picked up 10 points in the fantasy game with four points each game for won duels. Playing as a left-back in Streich’s set up there is a route to attacking points potentially too, albeit we have yet to see that in those ties. They were both tight 1-0 away wins however but at home, against a Köln side currently in the relegation play-off spot, Freiburg might just be a bit more free flowing which will allow for Makengo to make some surging runs down the left hand side of the pitch.
Midfielders – Mattias Svanberg (10.4m / 4% TSB / WOB)
The Swede has performed well as of late despite the Wolves having lost their last two games. In his last three ties Svanberg has picked up 34 points in the fantasy game, hitting a double-digit return on each occasion.
With a one goal, an assist and 12 points for goal attempts he’s one of Wolfsburg’s bright sparks. Away to Bundesliga whipping boys Darmstadt Wolfsburg will look to turn the tide and get back to winning ways. The premium midfield assets will be popular this matchday but perhaps Svanberg can sneak his way into your squad to compliment those top assets.
Julian Brandt (17.7m / 18% TSB / BVB)
18% is the lowest I’ve seen Brandt owned in a long while. Whilst I understand that, considering Dortmund have won just one of their last six, I expect he will bounce back eventually given the quality he possesses. Even boss Terzić has said if Dortmund carry on playing the way they have been then eventually good things will happen.
Dortmund travel to Augsburg on MD15 who lost for the first time on MD14 under new manager Jess Thorup. Personally it’s a toss up between him or keeping Hofmann (18m – B04) in my last midfield slot, a decision that will come down to the wire and may be based off of midweek European adventures.
Kevin Stöger (10.6m / 34% TSB / BOC)
Behind Leipzig’s Xavi Simons it’s Stöger who is the most in-form midfielder in the fantasy game. Even in a 3-1 away loss to Hoffenheim the Austrian still hit a double-digit fantasy return, one of eight double-digit returns so far.
It’s on home turf Stöger tends to star and that’s where Bochum are on MD15. They face a Union Berlin side who finally picked another win on MD14. That said though Die Eisernen have lost five away games on bounce, so the prospects aren’t looking good. I back Bochum for the home win here and with that should come some Stöger points.
Forwards – Alassane Pléa (12.7m / 2% TSB / BMG)
The French forward can’t stop scoring lately, having netted his seventh league goal on MD14. All of those goals have come since MD6 which tells you he is very much a striker firing on all cylinders. Since MD6 also he has only failed to return double-digit fantasy scores on two matchdays and is currently as consistent as they come.
Gladbach are in great home form too having won three in a row at Borussia-Park. A home game beckons on Friday night against a Werder Bremen side who haven’t won an away game so far this season. After pleading a case for Pléa, I’ve persuaded myself to bring him in for MD15. Will he come in for you?
Michael Gregoritsch (12.9m / 1% TSB / SCF)
Freiburg have turned their fortunes around having won back-to-back Bundesliga games following a winless streak of four. The Austrian has been a huge part of that netting the only and winning goals in both of those games. Gregoritsch has racked up 29 points across both games and will be looking to take that form into their next fixture which is at home to Köln.
Freiburg have been stronger at home this season whilst Köln have only won once away. Gregoritsch will look to score for a third game running for the Black Forest club.
Loïs Openda (16.8m / 18% TSB / RBL)
Recently the Belgian international has excelled on home turf. With an upcoming home game against Hoffenheim. It’s for that reason he makes my weekly recommendations. Four goals, 20 points for goal attempts alone and 53 points total across his last three home games are all you need to know to perhaps persuade you to bring Openda into your fantasy squad.
Hoffenheim’s xGA away also sits fifth worst at 1.81xGA, so the stats suggest we should see some Leipzig goals. The forward options look good this week – will Openda form part of your frontline?
