Best premium picks for Gameweek 33

The constant dilemma that FPL managers have is which premium players they should own. The FPL budget means that managers can only have so many premiums in their teams and they have to be weighed against the budget enablers. We assess the best premium picks for Gameweek 33.

Harry Kane

Tottenham’s tailsman has now returned in eight of his last nine Premier League matches. He has had two double digit hauls in his last three matches. Spurs only play once in Double Gameweek 33, the Saturday lunchtime kick off against Brighton.

The Lily Whites have scored 13 goals in their last three home matches in the Premier League. Three against West Ham and five against both Everton and Newcastle.

Kane has a good record against Brighton. He has returned in five of his seven Premier League meetings with the Seagull’s and averages 6.14 points per match against them.

The Spurs forward has seven double digit hauls so far this season, five of these have come since Gameweek 26. This makes him one of the best premium picks for Gameweek 33.

Son Heung-Min

The Spurs midfielder has been in blistering form, in the last three Gameweeks he has returned
48 FPL points.

Son’s six goals since Gameweek 30 leaves him top for outfielder players, more than double
the goals tally of any other player. Only team-mate Kane has as many attacking returns in this
period as Son, seven each, two more than the next best Brentford’s Bryan Mbuemo.

Kevin De Bruyne

Like Son, Kevin De Bruyne has been in fantastic form. Over the last four Gameweeks De
Bruyne has returned 41 FPL points, including two double digit hauls and nine points against
Liverpool. De Bruyne has returned in both of his previous two home fixtures against
Gameweek 33 opponents Brighton, averaging 9.50 points per match.
In the last for matches only Son and Kane have more attacking returns than KDB.

Is Mo Salah one of the best premium picks for Gameweek 33?

Salah remains the highest scoring player in the game with 230 points, however Son is now in
close pursuit with 198 points. Ahead of the Gameweek 32 deadline a number of FPL
managers sold Salah to fund another premium player, of those that didn’t a number of the
FPL community are considering following suit.

The Official FPL twitter have had a poll running about what to do with Salah.

Indeed Drafthound‘s knee-jerk reaction suggests selling Salah ahead of Gameweek 33.

However, Salah has returned in three of his last four Premier League meetings with
Gameweek 33 opponents Manchester United. Including an incredible 24 points in the reverse
of this fixture earlier on in the season. Since the 2019/20 season Salah averages 10.25 points
per match against the Red Devils.

Couple this with United’s poor form and that they have kept just one clean sheet since Gameweek 26, against Watford who are third bottom for goals scored in the same period, and this bodes well for a Salah return.
