Best differential XI for Gameweek 13

Last modified date

In this weekly series, Will from Fantasy Football 92 explores the low ownership differential options that could be the hidden gems to help you climb up those world rankings. He is his best differential XI for Gameweek 13.

We’ve all seen the template XI and figured out which elite assets to jump onto for this season. Whether on the Salah train, the Haaland bus or both, FPL managers need some unique names to ensure they’re always one step ahead of your mini-league rivals.

Here are the differential options we like the look of for Gameweek 13.

GOALKEEPER

Illan Meslier – Leeds United – 2.6% TSB

Leeds stopper Illan Meslier gets the nod between the sticks. They host Fulham in Gameweek 13 and will be confident of a rare clean sheet if they manage to keep Aleksandar Mitrovic quiet.

DEFENDERS

Joachim Andersen – Crystal Palace – 3.2% TSB

Emerson Royal – Tottenham – 2.2% TSB

Hugo Bueno – Wolves – 0.8% TSB

Crystal Palace continue to impress many with their attacking flair but there’s also a defensive solidity. A clean sheet was expected but not delivered against Wolves, largely thanks to the pinpoint crossing of £3.9m differential star Hugo Bueno who makes our XI after a hugely impressive full debut.

Moving on, Joachim Andersen and his Palace defence will be confident of travelling to Everton and collecting a third consecutive away clean sheet.

Emerson Royal completes the defence this week. Back from suspension, we fully expect him to rotate back into the Spurs line-up when Newcastle visit.

MIDFIELDERS

Harvey Barnes – Leicester City – 1.7% TSB

Eberechi Eze – Crystal Palace – 3.2% TSB

Lucas Paqueta – West Ham – 1.4% TSB

Luis Sinisterra – Leeds United – 0.6% TSB

Michael Olise – Crystal Palace – 0.2% TSB

Leicester are in the middle of a kind fixture run that continues with a trip to struggling Wolves. As James Maddison will return from suspension, attacking assets like Harvey Barnes will receive a boost. Despite his sporadic attacking returns, Barnes is looking sharp and seems on the verge of an imminent haul.

We’ve touched upon the attacking flair of Palace and two-thirds of that excitement comes from Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise. These talented youngsters combined for Tuesday night’s equaliser against Wolves. Olise’s low ownership of 0.2% is a mystery, as he is a constant threat from the right-hand side, assisting twice in his four starts.

Summer signing Lucas Paqueta is starting to provide the Brazilian flair that West Ham hoped for when splashing the cash. If he shakes off the midweek injury, a home game against Southampton’s defence gives him another great chance to showcase his talents.

Rounding off the midfield is the supremely talented Luis Sinisterra. The Colombian let us down when we last tipped him, following an incredible international break by being sent off for two stupid bookings. He’s clearly got the potential to be a great Raphinha replacement and, if he can get anywhere near the return rate of the former Leeds talisman, Sinisterra will be a bargain at £6.5m.

FORWARDS

Gianluca Scamacca – West Ham – 2.1% TSB

Patson Daka – Leicester City – 1.4% TSB

Gianluca Scamacca and Patson Daka are our forwards for this week, with one firmly in form and the other seemingly on the cusp of it. Italian Scamacca has taken to life in the Premier League quicker than most overseas imports and looks to have everything needed to succeed here. Facing Southampton gives an excellent chance to maintain this hot start.

Meanwhile, Leicester’s Daka has found the net three times and may have unexpectedly claimed the starting spot from Jamie Vardy. The Zambian looks sharp and will look to add to his tally against Wolves.
