Best Bundesliga Fantasy Players for Matchday 28

As Bundesliga Fantasy managers gear up for Matchday 28, choosing the right players can make all the difference in climbing the ranks. In this guide to the best Bundesliga Fantasy players for Matchday 28, our expert @Big4FPL shares some of the best picks in each outfield position.

Last week was a relatively quiet week, with many assets hitting around their expectation, with no real explosions or big disappointments. This week we’re hoping for a bit more excitement, but I’m sure this will also come with chaos given it’s another European schedule in midweek. With that being said, here are some of my top picks for this week:

Defenders

Anthony Caci – 10m

Best Bundesliga Fantasy Players for Matchday 28

Highlighted in last weeks picks to get Caci in on unlimited transfer week, this week is where he should have a real chance to shine. Continuing in his attacking right wing back position, Mainz looked dangerous vs Dortmund and you can be sure Caci creates a few chances vs Kiel.

Leo Østigård – 9m

Although he’s had a few injuries/illness and was a doubt for the last game, Ostigard has continued to deliver consistent returns of over 175 points, which is all you can ask for at that price. If taking a punt on some differential high upside defenders, there’s no harm having a high floor option to balance the line up.

Raphael Guerreiro – 14m

Best Bundesliga Fantasy Players for Matchday 28

The matchweek before the second leg vs Leverkusen, Guerreiro got the starting nod and proceeded to score a brace. This week we know Alphonso Davies is out for the rest of the season, so he is in all likelihood first choice in any case, but the upside should be there again. Augsburg may have a tough defence but their attack doesn’t offer too much, which should provide a solid floor.

Midfielders

Patrick Wimmer – 10m

Last week Wimmer made it into my team and although Wolfsburg had a shocker, he still
returned over 170 points with no goals or assists. This kind of output has been consistent with
what we’ve seen from Wimmer the last 6-7 weeks and this weekends match should give him a
chance to add a goal contribution on top of his base score.

Nadiem Amiri – 13m

Best Bundesliga Fantasy Players for Matchday 28

We’re heavy on the Mainz picks this week, but for good reason. They are one of the in-form teams in the league, being consistent performers all season, therefore I can’t see Kiel getting anything from this game. Amiri is on most set pieces and is the focal point of the team, so I’m expecting another solid display.

Paul Nebel – 6m

One of the bargain heroes of the season, Nebel managed to score last week despite a disappointing day for Mainz. He is rarely hooked off early and therefore should be in for a good score vs Kiel.

Forwards

Jonathan Burkardt – 10m

Mainz again, need I say more? Burkardt is getting attention from across Europe with his displays, and although he may be taken off around 70/80 minutes for Weiper, he is fully capable of hitting a strong score in those minutes as an alternative striker option.

Hugo Ekitike – 12m

Best Bundesliga Fantasy Players for Matchday 28

Ekitike keeps on showing his value in the Frankfurt team. Despite not scoring or assisting he returned over 180 points – which for a striker in this game is very rare. We’re used to seeing boom or bust from strikers but Ekitike offers a rare floor score to reduce the risk of a flop striker week (I’m looking at you Schick/Harres…).

Serhou Guirassy – 19m

Out of the last game through illness, I expect Guirassy makes his return ahead of a big UCL match in midweek. Dortmund still aren’t quite out of the race for the European spots with a good result vs Mainz so I expect Kovac to go strong and that only benefits Guirassy.
