Fixtures
Below we can see the ticker in order of fixture difficulty. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.
Gabriel
Arsenal come up against Sheffield United in Gameweek 10 which explains why they sit atop the fixture ticker. The Gooners have been sustaining some of the best defensive stats in the league this season. In terms of Sheffield United they rank the worst for total attempts on goal (83), second worst for shots in the box (56) and the joint worst for big chances total (nine).
It could be a great chance to pick up a clean sheet for Arsenal and the cheapest way into the defence is centre-back Gabriel (£4.7m). Interestingly Gabriel ranked amongst the best defenders in the league last season for shots in the box and big chances. This is very relevant considering Sheffield United rank the worst for headed attempts on goal conceded (40) and attempts from set pieces conceded (51).
Douglas Luiz
Aston Villa face Luton in the round ahead. The newly promoted side rank in the top five worst teams for data points like shots on target conceded and big chances conceded. The stats suggest Aston Villa could be in for another victory especially considering they have netted the joint most goals in the league so far with 23.
There are multiple routes into the Aston Villa attack but none as convincing and as cheap as Douglas Luiz (£5.5m). Luiz has collected four returns so far this season with three of them coming in his last five games. Not only has he picked up two double-digit returns in that same period but he also takes his sides set plays and penalties.
Cole Palmer
Chelsea look to be picking up some form after wins against Burnley, Fulham and picking up a 2-2 draw against Arsenal. Some may believe Chelsea are short offensively but they’ve still managed to match league leaders Tottenham for big chances so far (27).
The best way into the Chelsea attack at the moment seems to buy Cole Palmer (£5m). Palmer has cemented his position into the first team due to his performances. Not just that but Palmer has also taken over penalty duty which has helped him to pick up returns in each of his last three matches.
Simon Adingra
Brighton are another side in great scoring form. They have netted a huge 22 goals already this season but they also sit second best for big chances total (30) and joint second best for shots on target (57). They face Fulham ahead whom have conceded two goals in two of their last three matches in the league.
It doesn’t look good for Fulham defensively and Brighton are in high spirits offensively so investing in their attack could be a wise move. Whilst the likes of Kaoru Mitoma (£6.5m) being a little pricier than we’d like Simon Adingra comes in at just £5m. The injury to Solly March means Adingra should have safe minutes moving forwards but he’s also picked up two returns in his last five games showing good potential.
