Our friends at REALFEVR Fantasy sports are back to host another edition of the game this year. Be sure to sign up as we draw closer to the start but for now it could be key to know the AFCON Fantasy Group Draw and share some key information.

A

  • This could be one of the tougher groups as Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria come up against each other.
  • Nigeria will be one of the favourites to win the group with key players like Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface of Leverkusen.
  • The Ivory Coast are also likely to challenge for the top spot with the likes of Dortmund striker Sebastian Haller leading the line.
  • Guinea-Bissau will face Nigeria again after playing them in the qualifying group and finishing just behind them in second place.

B

  • Egypt, Ghana, Cape Verde and Mozambique all join Group B.
  • Egypt are favourites to win the group after winning five of their six qualifiers. They also have Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Salah at their disposal.
  • Ghana are another team who could have plenty of success. They came first in the qualifying group with 12 points. They also have a very exciting and influential player in Mohammed Kudus who could be one to watch.

C

  • Group C could be considered as one of the toughest groups in the competition. Senegal, Cameroon, The Gambia and Guinea clash in this epic group.
  • The group favourites are Senegal who won the most recent tournament. They have a lot of quality including Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, former Liverpool star Sadio Mane and Marseille’ Ismaila Sarr.
  • Cameroon also have plenty of quality. African Cup of Nations legend and striker Vincent Aboubakar leads the frontline with Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo. They also have Bayern striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and attacker Karl Toko Ekambi to call upon.

D

  • Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso and Mauritania make up Group D.
  • Algeria will of course be clear favourites in this group. They have the likes of former Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez, West Ham attacker Said Benrahma and Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar to pick from.
  • Burkina Faso were impressive in the most recent AFCON tournament. They also finished first in their qualifying group.

E

  • Group E includes Mali, Tunisia, Nambia and South Africa. This group could be very difficult to progress from and could even be judged as the Group of death.
  • Tunisia finished top of their qualifying group and could be heavily reliant on Youssef Msakni up front.
  • Mali also impressed in their most recent AFCON tournament whilst also finishing first in their qualifying group. Their striker Ibrahima Kone scored two goals in four qualifiers.
  • South Africa also finished top of their group after seeing out top side Morocco.

F

  • Group F consists of Morocco, Tanzania, Zambia and DR Congo.
  • Morocco are favourites to win the group. They have talent like PSG full-back Achraf Hakimi, Bayern full-back Noussair Mazraoui, former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech and AFCON Fantasy favourite Sofiane Boufal.
  • Zambia were impressive in their qualifiers finishing top of their group ahead of Ivory Coast. Leading the line is Leicester man Patson Daka.
