Notes

  • Chris Brady and Óscar Ustari are the obvious goalkeeper picks this week. However, I’m already tripled up on Chicago and Inter Miami players, so I’ve instead opted for Andre Blake on the front end of my ‘keeperoo, with Yohei Takaoka as the backup.
  • Jordi Alba and Andrew Gutman are the pick of the defenders this week. However, both will likely be on my bench, with Alba one yellow card from suspension and Gutman prone to boom/bust returns.
  • Ali Ahmed, Ryan Hollingshead and Kai Wagner make up the rest of my defence, with Hollingshead a potential scrub candidate depending on how Alba and Gutman get on across their two games.
  • Philip Zinckernagel is a lock in my team, as is a second Chicago midfielder. I’ve currently gone with Brian Gutiérrez. Although, he will likely be replaced by André Franco should he be added to the game in time for Chicago’s first DGW fixture.
  • Martín Ojeda, Thomas Müller and Albert Rusnák all have favourable home fixtures and make up the rest of my midfield.
  • Upfront, Lionel Messi and Son Heung-min are locks once again, with Messi an easy choice for captaincy.
  • The final forward spot is a toss up between Denis Bouanga and Luis Suárez. The Uruguayan has had better production at home this season and therefore gets the nod by virtue of two fixtures at Chase Stadium. However, he also looks to be one yellow card from suspension and therefore only makes my bench.

Notes

  • In goal, I like Dayne St.Clair on the front end of my keeperoo despite Chicago and Miami having a DGW. Hugo Lloris is my fallback should the Minnesota shotstopper fail to keep a clean sheet.
  • In defence, both Jordi Alba and Andrew Gutman make my team this week due to them having two games.
  • I’ve also doubled up on Minnesota defence with Markanich currently making my team. Kai Wagner and Mathias Laborda make up the final two spots of my defence due to their attacking potential.
  • In midfield, Philip Zinckernagel and Rodrigo De Paul are both locks in my team this week as they have a lot to play for in the final games of the regular season.
  • Martin Ojeda, Thomas Müller and Hany Mukhtar also make my team as they all have favourable matchups this weekend.
  • Up front, Lionel Messi is once again a lock in my team and he’s very likely to be my captain.
  • Hugo Cuypers and Denis Bouanga are my final two forwards although I might swap out the Belgian for Heung-Min Son. The South-Korean has amassed eight goal contributions in his last four games for LAFC so it’s hard to look past him.

Notes

  • It’s a DGW for Chicago and Miami and I’m really not sure how much Chicago I want.
  • I have a GK and DEF for Miami, but depending on their line-up, I may switch up keeper for attack.
  • Sealy and Freeman are playing well, but can they keep a clean sheet?
  • Zinck is on the bench to start, but I may move him in for a Saturday player.
  • It’s a tasty away matchup for LAFC on Sunday too.

Notes

  • Another weird DGW means we have to figure out who we want to prioritize this week. I could see Brady getting a ton of saves in both games so regardless of his CS potential, he could easily score well like Takaoka did last week.
  • Gutman and Zinckernagel are both easy adds from chicago as well.
  • Miami players seem to be easily clicks as well. RdP, (C) Messi and Alba will be the chalky picks.
  • I like Wagner and Sealy as SGW defenders until line-ups drop, and Rusnak and Ojeda have great matchups as well.
  • Evander’s ability to pop feels like a must have on the bench.
  • I would love to find a way to get a different forward, but Son and Bouanga feel like must owns with the numbers they are putting up together.
