Notes
- I don’t think I have as many issues as a lot of other managers, but my team is still not ideal.
- I don’t want to use the wildcard this early when we still have lots to learn about the scoring system, who benefits from it, and how teams will continue to line-up. However, if you have lots of issues, I think Wildcarding in players you at least know will start could be handy.
- I’m likely going to hold Camarda if he’s due back soon. I still feel like forwards will be mostly poor in this game outside of the Inter guys, so spending as little as possible there feels like the right play. That doesn’t mean I’m happy with budget forwards though. It may just be something I have to grin and bare through the season.
- I have one transfer, and honestly, I’m tempted to roll. Kossouno is obviously my biggest issue, but with Champions League coming up, he could get a start. He isn’t ideal long-term, but suffering slightly this week for two transfers next week could be beneficial.
- If I do sell Kossounou it could be for Thomas Kristensen, the Udinese centre-back. Udinese have excellent fixtures long-term now which could mean defensive potential for them.
- Captaincy starts with the first game, Circati away to Cagliari.

Notes
- I have lots of headaches after the international break: Scamacca is a doubt for this Gameweek due to injury, Kossounou hasn’t started a match yet, while Lucca becomes a worse pick day by day after Napoli signed Rasmus Hojlund.
- With only one transfer available, I have to be careful in deciding where to act. I feel like it is too early for a WC, I need more data to make the best use of the chip. So, as of today, my plan is to move Kossounou to Kristensen. The Udinese defender is doing very well for himself and is at a price range I can easily access by selling the Atalanta CB.
- I am mildly worried about my three forwards, but I think Lucca will start at least this week. In regards to Scamacca and Camarda, I will wait and see whether they are fit to play. After all, their injuries aren’t serious and should be available for the weeks to come.
- Another defender I am considering is Circati from Parma. Despite his team conceding in both matches, he has averaged more points than many other defender: I’ll consider him if I don’t want to double up on Udinese defence (as I also own their goalkeeper).
- My goalkeepers will both play at the same time, so I don’t have the chance to rotate them.
- Captaincy is tricky, but I will be satisfied with 7-8 points from either Bremer, Di Lorenzo, Carnesecchi (or Kristensen if I buy him), Berardi or Pulisic.

Notes
- Gameweek 2 was a complete disaster. All three of my strikers returned zero points, even though they all started. Scamacca and Lucca in particular had dream fixtures on paper – Parma and Cagliari – but still managed nothing.
- My original plan was to roll the transfer, but then news broke that Pulisic would be benched. That pushed me into bringing in De Bruyne. In hindsight, brutal move: Yes, Pulisic started on the bench, but he came on late, scored, and ended up outscoring De Bruyne by a few points. So not only did I lose points, I also burned a precious transfer.
- Now, just two weeks in and heading into GW3 after the international break, my team’s already in trouble: Rrahmani got injured playing for Kosovo and is out for a few weeks, Kossounou still can’t nail down a starting spot, Dele-Bashiru is underwhelming and now has Vecino breathing down his neck, Berardi’s Sassuolo look completely out of form, Scamacca picked up an injury on international duty and will probably miss out, Camarda got hooked at halftime last match, and Lecce still haven’t scored this season and Lucca is about to lose his place to Højlund, who arrived at the end of the window.
- I was hoping to wait a bit, watch the European rotation patterns, and save the wildcard for later. But given how things are falling apart, I don’t think I have a choice – it’s wildcard time.
