It’s the last week of the Bundesliga season! That means we get all the line-ups ahead of the deadline. With that being said, take these picks with a grain of salt as there may be some great, unexpected starters. However, if these players start then I’m backing them to finish strongly.
I’m going into this week at 36th overall, so although my hopes of a top five finish (and prize) are out of reach, I’m hoping a couple of the below can get me as high as possible and do the same for you.
Defenders
Daniel Svensson – 7m
The Dortmund player has locked down the left back/left wing back role in recent weeks – with Kovac going three at the back and having real success with the formation. Kiel are confirmed as relegated whilst Dortmund are fighting for top four. Therefore, this seems a recipe for pick as many Dortmund players as you can.
Jeremie Frimpong – 18m
Is this the last time we see the once-essential Bundesliga fantasy pick in the game? Although last week was the more formal home send-off for the Leverkusen squad that looks to be decimated in the summer, I’m backing Frimpong to finish the season on a high. Mainz are still fighting for European football places, but I can see Leverkusen coming out on top here.
Eric Smith – 8m
Smith really seemed like someone who could thrive with this scoring system, also being out of position a lot of the time in central midfield, but has flattered to deceive. Pauli still need a result to be 100% certain of safety (albeit it looks all but secured) and Bochum are confirmed as relegated. So, I’m hoping Smith can show some of that promise that he has never really delivered on.

Midfielders
Franck Honorat – 10m
A bit of a punt, but Honorat has shown glimpses of what he can do in a struggling Gladbach team after returning from injury. A final day, zero stakes match against a poor Wolfsburg team is the ideal place to take a punt here.
Johan Manzambi – 1m
Manzambi has started the last couple of matches, scored/assisted but has also been hooked off early. So, this is a bit of a risky pick in a match that Freiburg need to win. But, if he does start again then he’s a solid pick to pump some funds into picks elsewhere.
Jens Stage – 9m
The Stage vs Schmid trolling has been a pain all season – with one delivering whilst the other flops on a weekly basis. This week I’m going to take a chance on backing Stage. It’s a fairly pointless match vs Union with both sides having little to play for, but this could be the perfect recipe for some goals.
Forwards
Serhou Guirassy – 19m
In my picks last week, he delivered vs Leverkusen and was maybe unlucky not to score a bit more – the true value in the pick was a match-up this week vs Kiel in what is a must win for Dortmund vs a team already relegated. Could we get a repeat of his monster haul from earlier in the season?
Andrej Kramarić – 10m
The Bayern/Hoffenheim game is a strange one. Bayern have already been partying in Ibiza, whilst there is still a scenario where Hoffenheim end up in the relegation playoff match. I’m therefore backing the talisman of Kramaric to deliver in what could be an unexpected entertaining game.
Karim Adeyemi – 11m
The aspect we hate most on this game is that players like Adeyemi are down as strikers rather than midfielders, but if he starts this week then I back Adeyemi to keep up his scoring form. He’s hit a brace off the bench and a UCL hattrick this season. So, he’s the type of player who is worth a last day punt.
