Our FPL Gameweek 7 best differentials could give you a much needed boost to start the new season. Differentials are players who have low ownership. If those players are successful then it could both rank and mini-league position.

Gabriel Martinelli – 3.2% Ownership

Arsenal have one of the best fixtures on paper this week. The Gooners meet with newly promoted side Southampton who lost all but one of their league matches so far. The Saints also rank amongst the worst four sides for total shots on target and total big chances conceded.

After picking up four goals against promoted side Leicester last week Arsenal could put on a similar show this week and one player with low ownership we could look to is winger Gabriel Martinelli (£6.9m). The Brazilian appears to have stable minutes due to a change up in formation and with two assists and a goal in his last two league games he also has form going into the next match.

Liam Delap – 2.2% Ownership

There seems to be a lot of rhetoric around Ipswich recently. Have they gone unbeaten in their last four matches or are they winless in their last four matches? Well both of those are in fact true. But what is important is that the newly promoted side are showing fight and scoring goals.

The Tractor Boys face a West Ham side next who have shipped three goals in half of their first matches. Leading the Ipswich frontline going into the match is striker Liam Delap (£5.5m). As well as scoring against Fulham in Gameweek 3 Delap goes into his next match off the back of netting twice against Aston Villa recently.

Phil Foden – 5% Ownership

After several tricky fixtures Manchester City’s schedule starts to ease this week as they face off with Fulham at home. Results may not have gone the way they wanted but offensively they still rank amongst the top two sides for most attacking metrics.

With key injuries and questionable results Pep Guardiola may finally have to start relying on Phil Foden (£9.2m) again. Foden became one of the highest scoring players in the game last season after recording 19 goals and eight assists. It could be a matter of time before we start seeing that same form again.

Brennan Johnson – 1.4% Ownership

After back-to-back wins in their last two matches against Brentford and Manchester United, Tottenham seem to be on an uphill trajectory. When it comes to the data they sit top for total shots in the box and top for total big chances which shows how attacking they have been.

With the above in mind and a trip to Brighton who conceded four goals to Chelsea in their previous match, we could look to a Spurs attacker. One player who seems to be gaining momentum in terms of both minutes played and attacking output is Brennan Johnson (£6.4m). The Welshman has claimed two goals and one assist in his last two matches and is also one of the cheapest ways into an in-form attack.

Dwight McNeil – 4.8% Ownership

An abysmal start to the new season saw Everton lose all four of their first matches in the league. But, unbeaten in their last two and having scored two or more goals in three of their last four matches makes them an interesting prospect from an investment perspective.

Whilst teammate and striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has increased in popularity in the last several Gameweeks Dwight McNeil (£6m) appears to have gone under the radar. No other player in the league has created more successful crosses or chances than McNeil but his recent two-goal performance in Gameweek 6 shows he can also be a major goal threat.
