Gameweek 24 Best Wildcard Team

We look at the Gameweek 24 best wildcard team. Using the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker we can see which teams have the best run of fixtures. This can then aid FPL managers in picking out some of the best assets for the run ahead.

The wildcard gives managers the opportunity to change their entire team for any reason. Managers activate their wildcards for several reasons. Whether that be to target fixture swings or just change their team up, the wildcard can be precious to your planning.

Fixture ticker

Below we can see that the fixtures ticker covers the next six Gameweeks (from Gameweek 24-29).

Who has the best fixtures?

Brentford, Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace all rank in the top five teams with the easiest fixtures.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Chelsea, Everton, Tottenham, Burnley and Bournemouth all rank in the bottom five teams with the worst fixtures.

Blank and Double Gameweeks

It is also worth adding that Brentford, Manchester City, Luton and Liverpool all have double Gameweeks in the round ahead. However, of those teams both Luton and Liverpool will blank in Gameweek 26. Along with those two teams Tottenham and Chelsea will also have a blank Gameweek in 26.

Gameweek 24 Best Wildcard Team

Note: This team would give owners seven double Gameweek players for 25 and nine players for Blank Gameweek 26 without using transfers.

Goalkeepers

Manchester City have a double Gameweek ahead and with their impressive defensive data it could be worth investing into their backline. With uncertainties in defence it could be safer to pick Ederson (£5.5m) between the sticks. Backing him up is Newcastle’ Martin Dubravka (£4.2m).

Defenders

Tottenham may blank in Gameweek 26 but Pedro Porro (£5.9m) has been one of the best defensive assets in the game this season. Porro also has excellent fixtures after the Blank Gameweek which makes him even more appealing.

The uncertainty around Trent Alexander-Arnold’ gametime and match fitness is a concern. For that reason it could be wise to go for centre-back Virgil Van Dijk (£6.3m) who has a double Gameweek, plays for one of the strongest defences in the league and has goal threat from set pieces.

Arsenal are also maintaining one of the best defences in the division so investing at the back makes sense. Gabriel (£5m) is the standout option in the Arsenal defence after scoring a recent brace. Gabriel could be a fantastic long-term hold.

Aston Villa sit high on the fixture ticker for the period ahead. With that in mind and the fact they have a nice blank Gameweek 26 fixture Ezri Konsa (£4.6m) makes the cut.

Brighton have a great fixture after this week against Sheffield United and then face a good fixture in blank Gameweek 26. Because of that and his price-tag Jan Paul Van Hecke (£4m) could be an ideal budget pick.

Midfielders

Liverpool don’t just have double Gameweek in 25 but they also have a fixture against Burnley next up, one of the worst defences in the league. Diogo Jota (£8m) has been in great form recently – hitting a return in four of his last five matches.

Richarlison (£7.2m) has been one of the most in-form players in the league – with at least one goal in seven of his last eight games. He may have a blank in Gameweek 26 but his form and fixtures are too good to ignore.

Manchester City are in brilliant form and scoring plenty of goals. The champions also have great fixtures including a double Gameweek. Taking that into account Phil Foden (£8m) could be a great pick. Foden has returned in four of his last five matches which reflects good form.

Wolves have good fixtures but they have also netted a massive 14 goals in their last five matches. They also have a game against Sheffield United in blank Gameweek 26 so Pedro Neto (£5.6m) could be a lovely cheaper option. Since returning from injury Neto has collected a cool 20 points in his last three starts.

Manchester United’ Alejandro Garnacho (£4.8m) is proving to be one of the best attacking enablers in the game. The Spaniard has has hit two double-digit hauls in his last five matches. He also has a good fixture in blank Gameweek 26.

Forwards

Erling Haaland (£14.2m) is very much an essential for the period ahead. Haaland is one of the best FPL assets in the game when fit and regularly a standout captaincy option.

Brentford have a double Gameweek ahead but they also play in blank Gameweek 26 and the large blank in Gameweek 29. Since returning from injury Ivan Toney (£8.1m) has returned a huge 20 points in his last two matches.

The Liverpool schedule is brilliant for now and Darwin Nunez (£7.4m) continues to maintain some of the best underlying attacking data in the league. Nunez is in a solid run of form and takes his side penalties in the absence of Mohamed Salah.
