Last modified date

Round 16 saw wins for Napoli, Inter, Milan, Bologna and Fiorentina. We also saw Atalanta dismantle Salernitana 4-1. Get ready for the new fixtures as we take a look at a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 17 provided by regular @FplRossoneriHe also shares his general thoughts around captaincy.

Checking out a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 17 can be extremely beneficial for other fantasy managers. Twitter is full of some of the most experienced fantasy managers around so catching up with their plans could help bring clarity within our own teams.

Introduction

Welcome back to my GW17 Team reveal for Serie A Fantasy. Here, I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW.

Looking at GW16 first, I got 74 points with a GW average of 74 points. It was a small red arrow again that took me from 1.1K to 1.3K in the world and now 9th in Germany after GW16.

The star of the GW for me was Domenico Berardi. He scored 12 points and I captained for 24 points. There are some good fixtures to target in GW17 for Milan, Sassuolo and Juventus, Inter and Lazio.

Round 17 Team Reveal (subject to change)

Goalkeeper

  • Yann Sommer (€5.2m) – Another double-digit return in GW16 making it 11 clean sheets in 16 matches for Sommer. Sommer has been by far the most reliable GK in Serie A this season both in terms of security of starts and source of consistent points. He currently sits atop the list of GKs with the most points with eight double-digit hauls to boast in just 16 GWs.

Defenders

  • Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.2m) – I did expect some return from Di Lorenzo in GW16. However, it was not to be as he finished with six points as Napoli just edged Cagliari 2-1. Napoli will play Roma away from home in GW17. There I expect it to be a close affair with Dybala injured and Osimhen and Kvaradona clicking again. There is a high probability Di Lorenzo can keep a clean sheet so I will be starting him again in GW17.
  • Theo Hernandez (€6.8m) – My second defender for GW17 will be Theo Hernandez from AC Milan. Theo is slowly starting to show why he is the second most expensive defender in this game. I really hope he continues his form in the upcoming games. He scored nine points in GW16 with a clean sheet at home vs Monza in a 3-0 win. Theo and Milan now play Salernitana away in GW17 and I hope he can again bring in some good haul of points.
  • Gleison Bremer (€5.8m) – My third defender in GW17 will be Bremer from Juventus. I transferred him in a couple of GWs ago and he has not disappointed. He currently sits at the top of the defenders list with most points ahead of Dimarco. With Danilo back in the line-up again, it will only make the Juventus defence stronger. This increases the potential for a lot of clean sheets.
  • Danilo (€6.2m) – My fourth and final defender in GW17 will be Danilo from Juventus. He is back fully fit after a long injury layoff and immediately looked on it in GW15 and GW16. When he is on the pitch he is the mainstay in the Juventus backline. He also contributes not just via defensive actions but getting some goal contributions in the process. I quite like the double-up in the Juventus def and hope they can provide a lot of fantasy points moving forward.

Midfielders

  • Morten Frendrup (€4.4m) – My cheap enabler is Frendrup who is quietly going about his business at least from a fantasy perspective. He now has racked up 90 TBIs in just 16 games which is the highest in the league by 24 TBIs . He gives owners confidence that no matter what he can always get anywhere between 5-7 points every GW. Frendrup will come up against Sassuolo in GW17. There I expect a load of TBI points again at the very least. He is also one of the few MIDs who has played every single minute of the season.
  • Domenico Berardi (€10.6m) – Berardi will again be one of my midfield players for GW17 after his 12 point haul in GW16. Putting the captaincy on him turned out to be the right decision in the end as he got two penalties and converted them both. He will again look to build on that performance in GW17 where Sassuolo play Genoa at home. Berardi will also be in the captaincy conversation this week.
  • Cyril Ngonge (€5m) – My second cheap enabler is Cyril Ngonge for this GW when Verona take on Cagliari. At just a 5m price he already has four goals and two assist in 15 starts. I expect him to keep going with his form in the coming GW against Cagliari at home. Ngonge has 36 points in his last four games and he slowly established himself as one of the important cogs in that Verona side.

Forwards

  • Oliver Giroud (€8.8m) – Giroud now has eight goals and four assists in 12 starts for Milan sharing the Talisman duties with Leao. He will want to get on the score sheet again in GW17 when Milan visit Salernitana. I expect him to do well over the Christmas period. He can also be a viable option for captaincy this week.
  • Lautaro Martinez (€11.4m) – Martinez looks a level above everyone else at the moment in Serie A given. So far he has 15 goals and two assists in just 16 games for Inter. Lautaro scored yet again vs Lazio in GW16. I expect some fireworks again when Inter plays Lecce at the San Siro in GW17. Lautaro is a firm hold given his form. *Note: Do follow injury news around him as he came off slightly injured in a Coppa Italia game vs Bologna yesterday.
  • Ciro Immobile (€10.4m) – Immobile will complete my line-up this GW as Lazio faces Empoli away. I will be disappointed if he is not on the score sheet in this game. He still only has one outfield goal to his name in 11 starts and would love to change that as soon as possible. He has looked good in recent weeks, especially in the Champions League game where he came on and helped Lazio secure their passage through to the R16.

Captaincy

At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Olivier Giroud for reasons I have mentioned above. Domenico Berardi and Ciro Immobile are also in the running for captaincy as things stand.
