Best budget players for FPL Gameweek 14

We pick out the best budget players for FPL Gameweek 14. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker and underlying stats we provide some of the best cheap players, whether that be goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders or forwards for the round ahead.

Finding some of the best budget players for FPL Gameweek 14 can be extremely useful to managers. Cheap players are vital when it comes to trying to fit in the more expensive options and can even be great standalone assets.

Fixtures

Below we can see the ticker in order of fixture difficulty. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures and the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures.

Kostas Tsimikas

Gameweek 14 could be a great chance to get back to winning ways for Liverpool. It’s also a good opportunity to keep a clean sheet as the Reds rank fourth for expected goals conceded so far this season.

Liverpool come up against Fulham next who sit in the bottom worst teams for goals scored, attempts on goal, shots in the box, big chances total and expected goals.

With the above in mind Liverpool full-back Kostas Tsimikas (£4.7m) could have solid clean sheet potential. It’s also worth highlighting that Tsimikas has good attacking potential. In one of his most recent matches the Greek international bagged two assists which helped him to a huge 15 points.

Cole Palmer

Chelsea wouldn’t usually have much potential going into a game against Brighton but the Seagulls have been very poor at the back this season. In fact Brighton are one of the few sides who are yet to keep a single clean sheet.

The Blues may be inconsistent as of late but they are scoring goals which is important. The stats also back them up – ranking third best in the league for expected goals so far behind just Liverpool and Manchester City.

One player many will want in their squads with Brighton and good fixtures ahead is Cole Palmer (£5.3m). Palmer has been massively important to the Chelsea attack as of late. The midfielder is already on penalty duty which highlights how relied upon he is. In terms of actual FPL points Palmer has also managed four returns in his last six matches. Palmer isn’t just about penalties though as in the last six matches he sits second best amongst his offensive teammates for non-penalty expected goal involvement.

Odsonne Edouard

Another side we could back this week is Crystal Palace. Although not the most consistent side in the division in terms of goals they have still scored in all of their last four matches on the bounce. They also come up against West Ham this week which could mean huge potential for goals.

We would usually view West Ham as a team with a good defence but the Hammers have kept just one clean sheet all season. It’s also worth noting that they have conceded two or more goals in four of their last six matches which makes them a team to target.

The loss of Eberechi Eze will be a blow to Crystal Palace, especially after he just returned from injury. However, Michael Olise is back and last season he was one of their most creative players statistically. With that in mind Odsonne Edouard (£5.5m) could still be a great asset. Not only did he start the season well with three returns in his first five matches but he also scored in one of his most recent games.

Chris Wood

Nottingham Forest have a great fixture this week against Everton. The Toffees have impressed recently but they are showing signs of fatigue at the back – conceding 2-3 goals in each of their last two matches and keeping just one clean sheet in the last five.

They may be shy of consistency in terms of results but scoring goals is a different story. In fact. Nottingham Forest have netted twice in all of their last three matches on the bounce showing they are fully capable of finding the net.

Main man Taiwo Awoniyi recently picked up another injury which means he will be out for sometime. So, leading the attack is none other than Chris Wood (£4.9m). Wood is familiar with scoring goals and playing in the Premier League and with Everton next could have a great chance of picking up a return.
