The Premier League season continues so we look to the new round. We bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @dmpwright to give you his FPL team reveal for Gameweek 13.

As we approach any given deadline, managers will be scrambling for clarity on some of the biggest decisions in the game like transfers and captaincy. Taking a look at @dmpwright’ team reveal for FPL Gameweek 13 could benefit other managers when making those decisions.

Let’s be honest: on paper, it doesn’t look like a great gameweek, particularly for defensive assets!
In goal, Matt Turner’s relegation to the Nottingham Forest bench means Alphonse Areola plays again. As mentioned in my previous article, the West Ham defence has looked anything but secure of late. However, their short-term fixtures are reasonable and, at £4.3m, Areola still represents decent value, so I may hold him a while longer
In defence, Gabriel and Jamaal Lascelles are the best of a bad bunch and will almost certainly make my starting XI.
My final defensive spot will go to one of Charlie Taylor or Matty Cash. Cash has been a big letdown since coming in on my Gameweek 8 wildcard, but probably shades this one by virtue of his greater attacking threat (NPxGI of 1.45 across his last six fixtures), providing we get a positive fitness update from Unai Emery.
Kostas Tsimikas will almost certainly be last on my bench given Liverpool’s fixture. He is probably a case of don’t buy or sell right now.
In midfield, Mohamed Salah, Son Heung-Min and Bruno Fernandes are all locks, with Son likely to be my vice captain. Although I still need to see how the Spurs attack will fare without James Maddison.
With Jarrod Bowen potentially out with a knee injury, the West Ham midfielder will likely be my transfer out this week. Bryan Mbeumo is in line to return to my team despite a tricky home fixture against Arsenal.
Bukayo Saka also remains on my watchlist. However, I’m slightly put off by his recent lack of attacking threat.
Elsewhere, I still need to decide whether to play Moussa Diaby or Cameron Archer. I’m currently playing Diaby. He faces an injury-depleted Tottenham back line. However, I may yet be swayed by Archer’s plum home fixture against Bournemouth. They rank fourth-worst in the league for xGC away from home.
Upfront, Ollie Watkins is sure of a start against Spurs’ high defensive line, as is Erling Haaland, providing we get assurances from Pep Guardiola regarding his fitness. I still see Manchester City doing well offensively against Liverpool, with Haaland likely to be my captain if passed fit.
