FPL: @FPLReaction’ Top Three Picks for Gameweek 13

With the new round edging closer we bring in Fantasy Football Community and Fantasy Football Scout contributor @FPLReaction’ (Louis) to reel off his top three picks for Gameweek 13.

The early rounds are good opportunities to get off to a great start. Here I will give you my top three picks for Gameweek 13 to try and help with that. There are some very obvious options with huge potential for the new round and whilst I will list them, I will also provide you with three different picks who I think could also do well.

  • Erling Haland (£14m)
  • Mohamed Salah (£13m)
  • Jarrod Bowen (£7.7m)
  • Kaoru Mitoma (£6.6m)
  • Bukayo Saka (£8.7m)
  • Son Heung-Min (£9.7m)
  • Ollie Watkins (£8.5m)
  • Moussa Diaby (£6.8m)
  • Dominic Solanke (£6.5m)
  • Bruno Fernandes (£8.3m)

Top Three Picks – Eberechi Eze

There are a lot of flags this week and a lot of those flags come from our midfield. We’re also coming up to a very busy period as always in December so it’s really important that we have players who won’t be rotated and play 90 minutes for their clubs.

With the above in mind I think Eberechi Eze (£6.1m) might just be the solution to our problems. Crystal Palace have been without their talisman for some time due to injury and have struggled offensively because of it.

However, the return of Eze has had an instant impact to how creative and dangerous Crystal Palace look. Proof of this is the fact they netted two goals in each of their last two matches and guess who was involved? Since his return the midfielder has had a crucial part in half of his sides goals which emphasises his impact. A meeting against Luton next up means Eze has the potential to go big. He also has some nice fixtures moving forward.

Chris Wood

Nottingham Forest aren’t exactly the most prolific team offensively but they are effective enough. In fact they’ve managed to find the net twice in three of their last four league matches.

Star striker Taiwo Awoniyi has picked up another injury which will see him out for some time. This means that teammate Chris Wood will step in to replace him up front. Wood comes in at £4.9m which is one of the cheapest prices you will find from a forward playing first team football.

In terms of his actual scoring form his recent efforts have been appealing – scoring three goals in his last six matches for club and country. It’s also worth mentioning that Wood takes his sides penalties.

Nottingham Forest face Brighton next up who have failed to keep a single clean sheet this season. With that in mind, his price-tag and recent form Wood could be a great pick for the round ahead.

Cameron Archer

The injuries and flags within our teams seem to be causing a lot of issues but it’s also making us look to our bench for options. Many will come into the round not completely keen on starting Sheffield United striker Cameron Archer (£4.6m) but I think if you have him then just start him this week.

Most of Archer’ appeal is of course due to injuries elsewhere and tough fixtures but we also have to consider the fact he’s playing against Bournemouth. The Cherries have been one for the worst teams in the league defensively – ranking in the bottom three for a lot of the key defensive stats.

Archer isn’t the most prolific player but when considering his price and opponent he feels like an easy play this week. It’s worth knowing he is actually capable of scoring as well – as we saw in Gameweek 11 against Wolves.
