Going through an expert UCL Fantasy Matchday 4 review can be really helpful. @FPLRecation has finished his last two seasons inside the top 500 ranked managers in the world so checking out his general thoughts could be very beneficial moving forward.

Matchday 4 Review

Notes

  • I came into Matchday 4 off the back of picking up a huge 91 points and a rank rise from 400k up to 90k.
  • My team looked set for another good week and that happened in parts. However I was disappointed with some players and decisions.
  • This week I finished on 89 points which as you can see was just two points off my Matchday 3 tally. I also made another huge stride towards where I want to be in terms of rank – moving from 90k to 28k.
  • The biggest returns came from Morata who went big against Celtic. Kane scored two late goals against Galatasaray and Haaland who I didn’t think would start but did also scored a brace. Hearing Haaland was starting minutes before the deadline was huge for me because I captained him for a nice 28 points.
  • Other successful assets included Xavi Simons. He hit eight points and Foden who I also included late on with the news he was starting, he scored. Riznyk also banked a return with a clean sheet against Barcelona.
  • My defenders let me down this week. All failed to secure a clean sheet or assist etc. If one or two of them performed it could have been an even bigger week for me.
  • My biggest frustration was Brais Mendez. Real Sociedad beat Benfica 3-1 and he failed to return, He even missed a penalty he was gifted which made it even worse.

Thinking ahead

  • My main concern moving forward is whether my players will actually start.
  • I think when looking ahead we need to make sure our players are likely to play.
  • I do have some early thoughts in terms of transfers. One of those thoughts includes bringing Jude Bellingham back in who I sold due to injury, that’s if he recovers.
  • Other ideas include defensive transfers. I’m not so keen on Raum for the next round or at least until the last 16, mainly due to the fact I don’t think they are capable of keeping clean sheets.
  • That’s all from me!
