Best players for FPL Gameweek 10

The new round of Premier League is ahead. With that in mind and with the help of Fantasy Football Scout, we have dug into the data and plucked out some of best player v team stats to reveal the best players for FPL Gameweek 10.

Taking a look back at the head-to-head data to find some of the best players for FPL Gameweek 10 could be really helpful to managers. Picking out assets who have great records against their upcoming opponent can help with transfers, captaincy and even chip strategy.

Son Heung-min v Crystal Palace

Tottenham are currently top of the league due to their excellent start to the campaign. They are also maintaining some of the best attacking data as well. It could be a bad time to play Tottenham for Crystal Palace considering the form of Son Heung-min (£9.5m).

We can see that Son has a very good record against Crystal Palace between 2015-2021. In the 12 matches he played against them in that period he bagged a return in seven of them. His returns consisted of six goals and two assists. Son also scored against Crystal Palace last season as well so it could indicate potential this week.

Bukayo Saka v Sheffield United

Another side in good scoring form is Arsenal. They will be hoping to put their 2-2 performance against Chelsea in Gameweek 9 behind them this week. Arsenal come up against Sheffield United next. The newly promoted side are the worst defence in the league so far.

One Arsenal player in particular who could do well is Bukayo Saka (£8.5m). Between 2020-2021, in the 10 matches he faced a promoted side Saka hit a return in six. He also bagged three double-digit hauls against them too.

Jarrod Bowen v Everton

West Ham need to bounce back this week and they have a great chance to do that as they have a meeting with Everton. Midfielder Jarrod Bowen (£7.4m) has started the new campaign very well returning in six of his first nine games.

He also has a strong record against Everton. Last season Bowen picked up 18 points against the Toffees due to his two goals. In 2021 Bowen also bagged a huge 19 points against them. Taking both into account with his form could indicate that he is a very good pick for Gameweek 10.

Ollie Watkins v Luton

Another team in a rich vein of form is Aston Villa. They are currently on a run of 11 matches won at home and their game ahead would be their 12th. One of the reasons for that form is Ollie Watkins (£8.3m). The striker sits as the highest scoring player in the game at the time of writing.

Watkins also evidently has a good record against promoted teams. We can see that in the seven matches he played against them between 2020-2021 he banked a return in five of them. He also managed a huge 19 points against promoted sides last season due to his goal and assist.

Erling Haaland v Manchester United

Manchester City have a huge meeting against their local rivals this week, Manchester United. Although tough on paper Manchester United have been conceding some concerning defensive data this campaign. Because of that it may be wise to not overlook striker Erling Haaland (£14m).

As we can see, Erling Haaland may have had just one season to face Manchester United but he made it count. The Norwegian accumulated a big 25 points against them last season with the help of three goals and two assists.
