The best wildcard team
Goalkeepers
Cheslea play two promoted teams from now until the end of the season. The Blues also have a double Gameweek ahead. This could indicate investing in their defence a good move. Because of this, Kepa Arizzabalaga (£4.7m) makes the squad.
Mangers could look to utilize Leicester’s Daniel Iverson (£3.8m) over Kepa if they choose to. Iverson also helps to enable funds around the rest of the team.
Defenders
Manchester United sit second on the fixture ticker with great fixtures from now until the end of the season. They also have two double Gameweeks approaching so investing in their backline could be wise. One of the cheapest ways into the Manchester United defence is Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.3m). The full-back edges all of his defensive teammates for non-penalty expected goal involvement in the last six games (1.06).
Manchester City face two double Gameweeks ahead whilst also maintaining some of the best defensive stats in the league this campaign. With rotation at the back, one player avoiding that is Ruben Dias (£6m). The centre-back poses a threat from set pieces and has plenty of clean sheet potential in his games to come.
Brighton sit top of the fixture ticker as they face two double Gameweeks in the coming rounds. They have also been maintaining some great defensive data this season. The standout pick in the Brighton backline is Pervis Estupinan (£4.8m). He has a better non-penalty expected goal involvement (0.88) than any of his defensive teammates in the last six.
Not only do Newcastle play against some of worst attacks in the league over their next period but they also sit as one of the best defensive units in the league this campaign. In addition, Newcastle have a double Gameweek in 36. Because of this selecting two of their defenders could be a great move. For that reason the highest scoring defender in the game Kieran Trippier (£6.2m) makes the cut and so does the cheap enabling centre-back Sven Botman (£4.5m).
Midfielders
Brighton have two double Gameweeks ahead which is an early indicator that their attack is worth interest. In terms of their data, this season amongst all teams they rank in the best five teams for goals scored (55), attempts on goal (472), shots in the box (315), big chances total (91) and shots on target (179). Taking everything into account both Solly March (£5.2m) and Kaoru Mitoma (£5.6m) should be considered.
Manchester City rank amongst the best teams in the league offensively and face two teams who have failed to convince defensively this season. Doubling up on their attack could be very beneficial to managers. Some should consider Jack Grealish (£7.2m). The winger has started the last 10 league games in terms of reliability. Grealish has also managed three returns in his last four matches.
Not only do Liverpool have a double Gameweek in the round ahead but they do not face a tough fixture for the remainder of the season according to the fixture ticker. One way to target the teams ahead is with Mohamed Salah (£13m). The Egyptian takes his sides penalties and amongst all players in the last six also sits joint second for goals (five), second for shots in the box (20) and joint third for big chances total (six).
Manchester United have two double Gameweeks ahead and play some inconsistent defences along their path to the end of the season. Picking their standout attacking option could be key. Marcus Rashford (£7.2m) has been talismanic for the Reds this season banking 15 goals and four assists already.
Forwards
This season offensively Liverpool rank second for attempts on goal (507), first for shots in the box (373), second for big chances total (106) and third for shots on target (175). Because of this and their fixtures, the Liverpool frontline could be worth a double up with Diogo Jota (£8.8m). The Portuguese striker has bagged two double-digit hauls in his last three matches.
Manchester City’s double Gameweeks make it very difficult to go without striker Erling Haaland (£12.2m). The penalty taker is well clear of every other player in the game in terms of points. He also sits as the highest owned player in the game whilst being the standout captaincy option.
The Newcastle attack look to be firing and that can bee seen in the fact they have netted two or more goals in five of their last six games. Their double in Gameweek 36 only adds to the appeal of their offensive line and who better than the in-form Alexander Isak (£6.8m). Isak has picked up four returns in his last six matches, including two double-digit returns.
