We take a look at some of the best players against their Gameweek 20 opposition. Using previous head-to-head records and underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout members area to help us pick out some great FPL picks for the round ahead.
Picking out the best players against their Gameweek 20 opposition could be helpful in making both transfer and captaincy decisions. The more information FPL managers have the better our decisions tend to be in terms of having successful assets in our fantasy teams.
Harry Kane v Arsenal
Tottenham have shown signs of inconsistency lately but one player who has maintained fantastic returns is their main man Harry Kane (£11.6m). The striker sits as the second highest scoring player in Fantasy Premier League.
Kane has a double Gameweek ahead and one of the teams he faces is Arsenal. We can see from the graphic below, the Englishman has a brilliant record against his opponent. In the 15 matches he has played against Arsenal, Kane has managed a whopping 11 returns. Those returns include 13 goals and one assist.
Mohamed Salah v Brighton
Liverpool face a Brighton who have failed to keep a clean sheet in the last seven Gameweek’s so it could be a good match for the Liverpool attackers. One of those attackers could be Mohamed Salah (£12.9m). The Egyptian has blanked in his last two matches but does have a good record against his upcoming opponent.
In the 10 matches Liverpool have played Brighton in the Premier League, Salah has banked a huge eight returns, only blanking twice. Those eight returns consist of six goals and five assists. With many looking to sell Salah for Kevin De Bruyne this week, we could see Salah punish sellers.
Leandro Trossard v Liverpool
Staying with the Liverpool match, we could look to one of their attacking players. Although defensively ropey as of late, Brighton have scored in their last seven consecutive matches, netting against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City.
As we can see below Leandro Trossard (£6.9m) has a very strong record against Liverpool, a team many players would find it difficult to maintain a good record against. The Belgian has bagged four returns in his last six matches against Liverpool.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
There is plenty of good head-to-head records between Brighton v Liverpool and we continue with Liverpool. The Reds have really struggled at the back this season. However, one player we could consider is Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m).
Trent has quite a good record against Brighton. In the nine matches he has played against them, he has bagged a return in five of them. His returns include four clean sheets and two assists. Trent has also hit two consecutive returns in as many games with an assist in each.
