Community Team Reveal Gameweek 10 – FPL Poet
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 10, it’s the turn of FPL Poet to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Hi FPL Poet and thanks for the team reveal. So how did Gameweek 9 go?
It was horrible, to say the least. I was one of those who had captained Mohamed Salah over Erling Haaland, also taking a four-point hit to replace Kevin De Bruyne with him. The likes of Joao Cancelo, Reece James, Wilfried Zaha and Ivan Toney also failed to bring returns.
Furthermore, Fulham’s consolation goal in the 88th minute wiped out a Nick Pope clean sheet. At least Kieran Trippier had been subbed off by then. Without benefitting from the James Maddison 18-pointer, I would have been facing a 200 per cent drop in the overall ranking.
What does your defence look like?
I am still relying on the big boys. Pope is my goalkeeper and I will play Cancelo, Trippier and James at the back in a 3-4-3 formation.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
I am sticking with Gabriel Martinelli. This Arsenal team is in excellent form and I believe he can haul at any time. When he faces Liverpool, I’ll be rooting for a high-scoring game as I still have Salah.
I really need Zaha to score this week because this match against Leeds was one of the matches that I had in mind when using my Gameweek 8 Wildcard. Up front, Haaland is joined by Toney and I am bringing in Callum Wilson in place of Mitrovic.
So what are your transfer plans for Gameweek 10 and beyond?
After Gameweek 10, I have not given it much thought, to be honest. There is a possibility of saving the transfer of Gameweek 11 because the team looks good enough. I will make the final decision closer to that deadline.
Finally, what about captaincy?
Haaland. Period. I have probably learnt my lesson from that.
