Bundesliga Fantasy expert picks and preview

With a new round ahead, we look at Bundesliga Fantasy expert picks and preview. @FPLGunnersaurus (Jay) joins us to give his three top picks for the Matchday ahead. In addition, he also shares his squad going into the new round with his general thoughts.

Twitter is full of the most experienced fantasy football players around. Those managers can be some of the best people to look to when trying to gain clarity when making their own decisions within their teams. Seeing the insight of a Bundesliga fantasy expert can help for the Matchday ahead.

Top targets- Sheraldo Becker (10.9m – 36% owned – Union Berlin)

League leaders Union Berlin had an off week last time out losing 2-0 to an in-form Frankfurt side. They travel to third bottom Stuttgart in Matchday 9. Becker will be looking to get back on the scoresheet again, having scored midweek in Europa League action.

With nine goal involvements (six goals and three assists), against a team with a higher expected goals against at home than away (1.68 home v 1.47 away) we can look to Becker to bolster your forward line.

Jesper Lindstrom (MID – 11.8m – 2% owned – Eintracht Frankfurt)

Frankfurt travel to bottom club Bochum and are in a great run of form, winning four of their last five Bundesliga games and having scored an incredible 13 goals in those four victories. Away they average 2.67 goals per game and after working through an injury Lindstrom is back fully fit and firing.

As seen last time out with a 17-point haul in their 2-0 win over Union Berlin which saw the Dane score one and also rack up six points for goal attempts. If he can do that against the league leaders, imagine what he can do against the bottom team.

Jeremie Frimpong (DEF – 11.3m – 9% owned – Bayer Leverkusen)

Before I hear you say ‘but Leverkusen are second bottom’, hear us out here. Leverkusen host a Schalke side who have the worst expected goals away from home (0.86xG) and the fourth worst expected goals against away from home too (2.19xGA). Leverkusen, surprisingly, boast the third best home expected goals at 2.08 xG.

Long-time Bundesliga Fantasy players will know Frimpong’s flair for attacking, with the ‘defender’ already having scored twice this season. Expect both defensive and attacking returns from Frimpong this matchday with a Leverkusen team desperate for a big win.
