Top Fantasy Bundesliga picks for Matchday 7

Last modified date

FBL Thinker is an expert at the Fantasy Bundesliga game and here he shares his top weekly picks for Matchday 7.

Matchday 6 was filled with unexpected results as Stuttgart scored twice to draw against Bayern, Leipzig defeated Dortmund and these badly hit my team, with the overall rank dropping from ninth to 22nd. Below are the picks for Matchday 7.

STRIKERS

Sadio Mané (FC Bayern München) – 17.1m

Mane was rested last week and is sure to start this time. Being part of an attacking Bayern front three, he will expect to excel against defensively weak Augsburg.

Sheraldo Becker (FC Union Berlin) – 10.5m

At surprise leaders Union, Becker has been one of their most promising players in attack. Playing at home against Wolfsburg, who are still looking uncertain at the back, Becker could be amongst the goals.

Michael Gregoritsch (Sport-Club Freiburg) – 8.3m

A consistent pick from a good Freiburg team, he also has a strong fixture here. Opponents Hoffenheim are known for conceding chances, making Gregoritsch a very good pick.

MIDFIELDERS

Vincenzo Grifo (Sport-Club Freiburg) – 14.6m

Grifo is the main attacking threat of Freiburg, as a taker of set-pieces and penalties. Like Gregoritsch, he will relish facing this Hoffenheim back line.

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) – 15.3m

With back-to-back defeats, Dortmund’s recent results have not been good. Yet their home form has been dependable and now have a derby against Schalke. They will be up for the challenge and Reus, being central to their attack, will be involved in most attacks.

Joshua Kimmich (FC Bayern München) – 16.6m

Kimmich has been playing in a much more advanced position as stated by Nagelsmann and this is shown by his contribution to attack and assists for Bayern. He should play 90 mins against Augsburg and being on set-pieces makes him a very reliable pick.

DEFENDERS

Alphonso Davies (FC Bayern München) – 16m

Considering Bayern’s defensive injuries, Davies provides a safe option. He plays at left-back for them and, with most attacks originating from that side of the pitch, he is expected to provide assists for their front line.

Davies’ points potential is very high and he returned many hauls last season, even with playing time limited by injury. 19 points came in his last match and he could do so again versus Augsburg.

Christian Günter (Sport-Club Freiburg) – 13.2m

Gunter playing last on the matchday offers Fantasy Bundesliga flexibility and he is a good contributor in both defence and attack. Furthermore, most of Freiburg’s attacks originate from the left side.

Jonas Hector (FC Köln) – 10.2m

He is playing against a Bochum team who is conceding plenty of goals and looking weak in attack. Left-back Hector will combine with Florian Kainz to create chances, adding to the potential of a clean sheet.

GOALKEEPERS

Robin Zentner (FSV Mainz 05) – 6.8m

The Mainz defence was one of last season’s best, conceding the lowest number of big chances. Zentner kept ten clean sheets in the process, also chipping in with a good number of saves. He has a home clash against Hertha who has not looked good in attack, therefore he has a good chance of a clean sheet.

Mark Flekken (Sport-Club Freiburg) – 11m

Flekken is one of the best keepers in the league and his displays have earned him an international cap. Playing behind a rock-solid Freiburg defence that has already kept four clean sheets and will look to make it five against Hoffenheim.

Alexander Meyer (Borussia Dortmund) – 2.3m

Meyer will be in goal for Dortmund whilst first-choice keeper Gregor Kobel is injured. Not only is he a cheap budget option but the match-up against Schalke is also a good one.
