FPL Gameweek 3 Team Reveal
Early transfers were on the agenda for the FPL Gameweek 3 Team, following a red arrow last weekend.
The plan was to bring in a Manchester City attacker but a hit was on the cards after Allan Saint-Maximin was yellow flagged.

FPL Gameweek 2 Review
Gameweek 2 yielded just 47 points and a red arrow: it provided plenty of goals but unfortunately just three for this side. Selling Son Heung-Min who scored four goals for a Bruno Fernandes blank added insult to injury, and Allan Saint-Maximin played very few minutes before succumbing to injury.
Aleksandar Mitrovic provided a glimmer of hope on Saturday afternoon with a brace, and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang crucially delivered, albeit just a solitary assist. There were blanks for the rest of the attackers, although Timo Werner should have had an assist if Chelsea had converted their penalty.
That Jorginho miss did allow a Trent Alexander-Arnold an assist though, and he scooped a bonus point too. James Justin delivered a second attacking return in as many games, having found the back of the net against Burnley. No Manchester City, Everton or Spurs players proved costly.
FPL Gameweek 3 Preview
This week the top priority was to get on board a Manchester City attacker, who have made a late but lively start to the season. There was a slight temptation to wildcard, with a few problems across the squad, but I settled for a four point hit with most players deserving of a little more time.
The plan was always to switch out Aubameyang for a Manchester City player this week, and Kevin De Bruyne stole the headlines of Gameweek 2 with a goal and an assist: he had four shots on target and created six chances in that game from an advanced position as a number ten.
Phil Foden also caught the eye in that fixture, and with a hope he gets more regular game-time at least during these early phases of the season, I’ve taken the plunge. Allan Saint-Maximin has ran out of time, with injury niggles and no attacking returns: the transfers were made on Monday night before price rises as the exact funds were available.
There was a trio of captain options considered: Kevin De Bruyne, Mo Salah and Timo Werner. Werner has the easier fixture, but it’s away from home and Chelsea are the weaker premium side so he was ruled out. I think Manchester City’s game against Leicester City will be easier than Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal, so Kevin De Bruyne is the narrow winner of the armband!
Soucek drops to the bench this week, with Charlie Taylor and Kyle Walker-Peters given the nod for their clash at Turf Moor: both delivered an assist on my bench last week. At the time of writing, the team is ranked at 1,698,686 with 121 points. All chips are available. Team value lies at £100.3 million, with £0.0 million in the bank.
