Double Gameweek 27 Announcement
The Premier League have announced another round of fixtures. This means a Double Gameweek 27 announcement. Here we take a look at when the fixtures have been rescheduled for and what that means for FPL managers.
The Premier League have today announced two rescheduled matches. Both these fixtures were postponed as a result of the sad passing of Queen Elizabeth II. The games between Southampton and Brentford and Brighton and Crystal Palace have been rescheduled as follows.
Wednesday 15 March
19:30 Southampton v Brentford
Thursday 16 March
19:30 Brighton v Crystal Palace
What does Double Gameweek 27 look like?
The teams will have the following fixtures:
- Brentford: Everton (a) Southampton (a)
- Brighton: Leeds (a) Crystal Palace (h)
- Crystal Palace: Man City (h) Brighton (a)
- Southampton: Man United (a) Brentford (h)
What does this mean for FPL managers?
Many FPL players have been considering selling their Brighton and Brentford assets as both teams blank in Gameweek 25. However, the two fixtures in Gameweek 27 might mean that managers consider holding those assets. FPL managers could look to invest in these four teams.
However, the FA Cup results could mean that Brighton, Brentford and Southampton could all double in Gameweek 27 and blank in Gameweek 28. Of the double gameweek sides only Crystal Palace are certain to have a fixture in Gameweek 28 of these teams as they face Arsenal and both sides are out of the FA Cup.
Kaoru Mitoma looks like the stand out pick for FPL managers to invest in. Even if they need to manage a blank in Gameweek 25 and potentially 28 around the double in Gameweek 27.
