The World Cup is just around the corner. Many of the usual favourites like France, Brazil, England and several more have been highlighted for the tournament ahead. However, it is vital we look at World Cup Fantasy underdogs.

World Cup Fantasy underdogs tend to regularly under the radar. However, in many cases, it is those very teams that can offer some of the best value for money assets in the game. These types of teams and assets can be detrimental to getting ahead of the competition.

Denmark

Denmark remain one of the most underrated countries in the world. Their team ethic and togetherness can only be matched by a few. This machine-like team have no huge individual stars, but each player fulfils their role with total motivation and effort.

The Danes have shown some inconsistencies as of late but have also beaten France twice in their recent Nations League campaign. This is a great reflection of their potential. In their World Cup qualifying campaign, Denmark won nine of their 10 matches. Again, a reminder that they should not be underestimated.

Denmark do have some appealing World Cup Fantasy assets. Due to Denmark being constantly underrated, their assets have become ridiculously cheaper than they should be. Defender Joakim Maehle (£4.5m) and midfielder Andreas Skov Olsen (£6m) standout above the rest. However, there is plenty of value in the rest of their team.

Croatia

Croatia have, like Denmark become a well drilled team. Every player plays their role fantastically. In their last 10 matches the Croatians have won seven, showing they’re in fine form. Some of those wins were against excellent teams like France and Denmark.

Croatia also showed strength in their qualifying matches where they won seven out of 10. Although they are a team, they also have some great standout assets. One of those that could be considered is midfielder Luka Modrić (£8.5m). Another player many could consider is the fantastically priced defender Borna Sosa (£3.5m).

Serbia

Serbia may have been written off by fans before the tournament has even started. However, their recent performances and results should be enough to make them think twice. Serbia have won seven of their last 10 matches, reflecting top form.

Some of the teams Serbia beat in their last 10 matches include teams like Portugal, Norway and Sweden. Their World Cup qualifying campaign was also excellent. They won the group ahead of heavy hitters Portugal. In their eight qualifiers they managed to remain unbeaten and win six of those eight games.

Serbia have a solid overall team but do have some appealing individuals many could look to target in World Cup Fantasy. Strikers Dušan Vlahović (£8.5m) and Aleksandar Mitrović (£7m) could be firmly amongst those.
