World Cup Fantasy best England picks

Last modified date

The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is closing in. The Official Fantasy game has now officially been released for managers to build their teams and look at all of the player prices available. With that in mind we look at the World Cup Fantasy best England picks.

Fantasy managers will be hoping to get a better idea of which players they could target ahead of building their squads. England are amongst the top teams as favourites to win the tournament. For that reason, it could be important go through the best England picks in the game.

Harry Kane

The standout player from England is Harry Kane. The star striker comes into the game with a premium price-tag of £11m. Kane has become an integral part of how England play. The main man and penalty taker has been relentlessly consistent for both club and country recently.

In his World Cup Qualifiers, Kane bagged a huge 12 goals and two assists. This totalled to an impressive 14 goal contributions in his eight matches played. This season, the pricey forward has already notched up 10 goals and one assist in his 13 domestic league matches for Tottenham.

Raheem Sterling

Many would have expected Raheem Sterling to be categorized as a midfielder in the game but that is not the case. The Chelsea star comes into the game as a £8.5m forward. England manager Gareth Southgate appears to have heavy reliance on Sterling and that can be reflected in the fact he has started four of their last six competitive matches.

Sterling picked up two goals and one assist in his seven World Cup Qualifiers. However, it was his recent Euros campaign that caught the eye. The winger helped England all of the way to the final whilst also managing to score three goals and create one assist.

Luke Shaw

England have a very good group with some great fixtures ahead. For that reason, investing in the England defence could be beneficial to managers. Injuries have struck the England defence with both Ben Chilwell and Reece James potentially ruled out. This could suggest Gareth Southgate, once again, relies on Luke Shaw.

Luke Shaw has a fantastic price-tag of just £5m which is £0.5m cheaper than several of his other fellow defenders. His price could be seen as very appealing. On top of that, Luke Shaw was also a main stay in the Euros team that made the final. He had a brilliant campaign which saw him hit one goal, three assists and three clean sheets. This totalled to seven returns in his six matches played.
