World Cup 2022 Fantasy team reveal – Matchday 7
The final matches take place on Saturday and Sunday, so here is Marc Jobling with his FIFA Fantasy team reveal.
My 65 points of this round were much better than Matchday 5’s 29, although the FIFA Fantasy ranking only slightly increased to 9,295th. Although I’m still claiming higher, due to the game screwing up my 12 Dani Olmo points of Matchday 1.
By discovering that two unused transfers weren’t carried over, my five semi-final moves only just reached 11 men. Adrien Rabiot‘s late illness took this down to ten.
Team reveal
Whilst I thought delaying the Power Captain chip was about to be a good decision – with Lionel Messi hauling – Theo Hernandez‘s 13-point return meant I’d have scored an extra three.
Oh well, I’ll just use it in Matchday 7 instead. It feels wasted but perhaps Alexis Mac Allister scores in the final, or Hakim Ziyech hat-tricks in the third-placed play-off.
The main problem now is there are only four nations left, so most active managers will have a near-identical squad. Gaining rank is extremely difficult, with six free transfers but all players having one more match.
I have used two already, to remove the already-eliminated defenders Marquinhos and Raphael Guerreiro. Meanwhile, the other four can just wait until team news – there might even be the luxury of replacing the second goalkeeper.
Each defence is covered at least once, the only other forward that appeals is Julian Alvarez and midfielders are still scarce. Getting a low-owned one is the key.
Perhaps Sofiane Boufal gets bought, with the playoff possibly seeing Lovro Majer rotated in.
So good luck for Matchday 6, everyone. Let’s get some points.
