Who passed the eye test in Gameweek 34?

We take a look at the Saturday matches to see who passed the eye test Gameweek 34. With a focus on the matches played so far, we highlight some of the standout performances of the current round, whether they returned in Fantasy Premier League or not.

Underlying stats will always be very useful for FPL managers in their chase for success. However, looking at who passed the eye test in Gameweek 34 could be a huge factor when looking at potential FPL assets to bring into our fantasy teams moving forward.

Eberechi Eze

West Ham went into their first Gameweek 34 match looking to squeeze points from Crystal Palace. Roy Hodgson’s men were brilliant offensively and bagged four goals to claim all three points. There were several key performances but the biggest came from Eberechi Eze (£5.5m).

Eze dug in an won the majority of his duels which was key for Crystal Palace’s hold on the game. However, his creativity was on point, creating four key passes leading to shots. His best moment of the match came when he earned and scored a penalty. His performance was topped off with a big nine points in FPL. Crystal Palace face Tottenham and all three promoted teams after that so managers could look to him as a differential.

Danny Welbeck

Brighton were hoping to extend their fight towards the top of the table with the intention of claiming a European spot. They came up against a Wolves side who picked up three wins in their last four matches prior to this game. However, Brighton became a task too difficult as they were dismantled by the hosts 6-0.

With goals aplenty came several key performances for Brighton. One of the standout showings came from Danny Welbeck (£6.5m). The striker was both creator and goal threat on Saturday. Welbeck caused catastrophic damage to the Wolves backline producing two key passes, one big chance and three shots on target. His performance converted into contributions as he bagged two goals, an assist and a whopping 15 points.

Brighton have another double Gameweek coming up and whilst many will stick with the more reliable and consistent picks some could choose to go different and commit to the explosive Danny Welbeck.

Pervis Estupinan

The 6-0 thrashing of Wolves was very unexpected but fans wouldn’t be overly surprised because of Brighton’s fantastic campaign. The hosts frontline was amazing on Saturday but one member of their backline put in a great overall performance.

Pervis Estupinan (£4.8m) was everything a manager would want from a full-back this weekend. Not only did he defend valiantly he was also a constant threat to the Wolves defence. His creativity shone through as he slipped three key passes to his offensive teammates whilst also managing to muster a big chance which led to his assist. Estupinan kept the clean sheet and as well as his attacking return he accumulated nine points in FPL.
