Who has the best fixtures in GAFFR to start the season?
The new Championship season is edging closer so we take a look at who has the best fixtures to start the season. Focusing on the first four fixtures of the teams we decide which of them could be worth targeting for the new GAFFR campaign.
Looking at who has the best fixtures in GAFFR to start the season with could be extremely useful for fantasy managers. It can give an indication of which teams to invest in, help with building our first squads and also contribute to the short term planning of transfers, chips and captaincy.
Leeds
Leeds struggled in their 22/23 Premier League campaign. Although that was the case they will be fully expected to make a quick return back up to the top tier. They are also amongst the favourites to gain promotion and they could get off to a great early start.
Leeds face Cardiff, Birmingham, West Brom and Ipswich in their first four matches. West Brom are likely to pose the biggest threat in their first four games whilst the others could be much more comfortable. This indicates that investing in Leeds could be very beneficial at the start of the season.
Leicester
The Foxes look set to offload some of their key players but what they have should still be enough to challenge for automatic promotion. Leicester go into the new season as favourites for first place and are extremely likely to get off to a good start.
Amongst the first four fixtures Leicester play Coventry, Huddersfield, Cardiff and Rotherham. Their opening game of the campaign against Coventry could be a tough early challenge. But, Huddersfield, Cardiff and Rotherham all showed huge inconsistencies last season.
Southampton
Southampton finished rock bottom of the Premier League in 22/23 following a disastrous campaign. That may be the case but the Saints come into their new challenge amongst the favourites. They also have some great starting fixtures to build a run.
Sheffield Wednesday, Norwich, Plymouth and QPR lay ahead for Southampton. We can see that two of the opposing sides are in fact promoted teams. Not only that but a game against a QPR who crumbled towards the latter stages of last season also bodes well for their chances.
Watford
Watford went into their 22/23 Championship season as favourites but they finished well below their expectations. In fact, The Hornets were inconsistent for most of their campaign. Their form cemented them an 11th place finish but a great start to the new season could help them make up for that.
They have fixtures scheduled against QPR, Plymouth, Stoke and Blackburn. The latter may pose problems but their other three matches could be fantastic opportunities to put together a great early run of form going into the new season.
