Who has the best early FPL 2024/25 fixtures?

Tuesday brought the anticipated announcement of 2024/25 Premier League fixtures, so we’re looking at the best early runs for FPL managers.

Although most Fantasy attention is currently on the European Championship – which we’re covering in detail on this site – all 380 domestic matches of next season have now been revealed.

Starting on Friday 16 August and ending on Sunday 25 May, there’ll be no mid-season break. Plus, as we heard in April, there will be fewer Blank and Double Gameweeks from now on because FA Cup fifth rounds are moving back to weekends.

So which teams have the best early fixtures from an FPL perspective? We use Fantasy Football Scout’s season ticker to find out.

BEST EARLY FPL FIXTURES

LIVERPOOL

The last thing new manager Arne Slot would’ve wanted was a tough start, therefore he’ll be internally delighted at Liverpool’s early run. It’s a sea of blue, according to the ticker.

Promoted Ipswich on day one, followed by three of the next four being at Anfield.

It may see Mohamed Salah become popular again, even though ownership waned towards the end of 2023/24.

FULHAM

Beyond Bernd Leno, there was little FPL fanfare for Fulham. Rodrigo Muniz had a run of eight goals in eight matches from Gameweek 23 and from this point on he ranked third for attempts and first for shots inside the box.

However, he won’t be the same £4.5m bargain forward this time. A rise might still contain appeal though, as they begin on the Friday at Man United and then have back-to-back meetings with promoted sides. After that, the same West Ham home fixture that they won 5-0.

CRYSTAL PALACE

The arrival of Oliver Glasner helped the Eagles win six of their final seven matches, netting 21 times and keeping four clean sheets. It grabbed them a top-half finish.

Jean-Philippe Mateta was a huge part of this, ending with nine goals in six matches. Additionally, he claims the honour of having the highest individual Gameweek score for last season (29).

Expect a more expensive version of him to be highly owned at the start, alongside a defensive team-mate. But the uncertain futures of Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze mean they’ll have to be a late call.

ASTON VILLA

In fact, Mateta’s hat-trick gave Palace a 5-0 final-day victory over Aston Villa. By then, unlikely Champions League football had already been secured for Unai Emery’s lot, so it wasn’t a big deal.

Yet they didn’t win any of their last four matches, meaning Villa were only ninth-best over the closing 19 matches. It’ll be interesting to see how they’ll cope with top-table European action.

Ollie Watkins could reach a £10.0m price tag – perhaps too expensive – while their unreliable backline allowed both the fourth-fewest shots (455) and the fourth-most big chances (108).

SOUTHAMPTON

Finally, the sole promoted team with alright early fixtures. After a tough Gameweek 1 trip to Newcastle, things look decent.

Adam Armstrong bagged 24 Championship goals but just four from the Saints’ previous two Premier League campaigns. He’ll be tough to predict.

Defensively, only Norwich conceded more often amongst the second-tier’s top-nine sides.
