LATEST FPL TRANSFERS AND GOSSIP
DONE DEALS:

- Max Weiss (Karlsruhe to Burnley, £4.3m)
- Axel Tuanzebe (Ipswich to Burnley, free)
- Habib Diarra (Strasbourg to Sunderland, £30m)
- Sebastiaan Bornauw (Wolfsburg to Leeds, £5.1m)
- Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea to Arsenal, £5m)
- João Pedro (Brighton to Chelsea, £60m)
- Loum Tchaouna (Lazio to Burnley, undisclosed)
- Olivier Boscagli (PSV Eindhoven to Brighton, free)
- Antoni Milambo (Feyenoord to Brentford, undisclosed)
A few names have come through Burnley’s doors, as all three promoted sides have fired out of the traps with their urgent need to strengthen. Sunderland splashed a club-record fee on a Strasbourg midfielder, while Leeds added another defender to their Championship-winning squad.
Elsewhere, the major deal of recent days saw transfer addicts Chelsea snatch João Pedro from under Newcastle’s noses. The versatile forward has signed in time to feature in the Club World Cup’s latter stages.
The Blues have also begun the process of reducing their goalkeeping pool, selling £71.6m arrival Kepa to Arsenal for £5m.
Sticking in west London, Brentford are trying hard to prevent a decline should Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Norgaard follow Thomas Frank out of the door. The usually smart buyers have captured 20-year-old Feyenoord midfielder Antoni Milambo, who scored three Champions League goals last season.
RUMOURED:

- Anthony Elanga (Nott’m Forest to Newcastle)
- James Trafford (Burnley to Newcastle)
- Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford to Man United)
- Mohammed Kudus (West Ham to Tottenham)
- Noah Sadiki (Union Saint-Gilloise to Sunderland)
- Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace to Arsenal)
- Noni Madueke (Chelsea to Arsenal)
- Jamie Gittens (Dortmund to Chelsea)
- Thierno Barry (Villarreal to Everton)
Meanwhile, several of these would probably have been announced on Thursday, had it not been for the tragic news about Diogo Jota.
Versatile 20-year-old Noah Sadiki has just won the Belgian league but chooses Wearside over Champions League football, as Jamie Gittens to Chelsea seems done.
As much as the Blues want to build their own 456-person Squid Game for this campaign, the truth is that some names have to go. That’s why the talented Noni Madueke is being linked with Arsenal. Unlike 2024/25’s Raheem Sterling switch, this would be permanent.
The Gunners are also being tipped to beat Tottenham to Eberechi Eze, should they meet his £68m release clause. Playing in a better side could escalate FPL interest in Eze, but he’ll have higher rotation risk and would likely be sharing set-piece duties.
Instead, Spurs will look to pull off a rare transfer with West Ham. They want Mohammed Kudus for less than the £85m clause, someone who was the top Premier League player for take-ons in both seasons. Even in an underwhelming 2024/25, he racked up more shots than Chris Wood, Luis Diaz, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Justin Kluivert.
After two years without a major money signing, Newcastle are confident of completing a £55m move for Anthony Elanga. The winger has been openly joking with Magpies players on social media and knows Alexander Isak from Sweden meet-ups. On the other hand, their James Trafford deal is moving at a snail’s pace, as is Mbeumo to Manchester United.
At least Everton looks set to grab 6ft 5in forward Thierno Barry. His 11 goals and four assists helped Villarreal qualify for the Champions League after joining from Basel.
