Which players are due a goal in Gameweek 37?

Picking out the players that look likely to score in an FPL gameweek is a big part of management. Using recent underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout, we assess which players are due a goal in Gameweek 37.

Recent FPL goals

Some attackers are in great form over their last four games:

However, others are shooting and getting in the right places without having either luck or end product. So let’s look at the players who have met the following criteria over these four:

  • No more than one goal
  • At least nine shots
  • At least two big chances
  • An expected goals (xG) tally of 1.10
  • An expected goal involvement (xGI) of 1.30

Due a goal in Gameweek 37

We still have Crystal Palace v Manchester United left in Gameweek 36, which is why Antony and Alejandro Garnacho still appear here.

As for the disappeared names, Julian Alvarez and Ben Brereton Diaz were, indeed, due a goal as they both went on to net for the second time in three matches.

It’s not going as well for Ivan Toney though, on a streak of nine goalless starts.

Ranked by xG

Several cheap attackers feature, with Rodrigo Muniz‘s one shot being his lowest in all 2023/24 starts. Yet Chris Wood‘s last three outings have all had a trio of penalty area attempts with at least one big chance. He hit the post on Saturday.

Over at Brighton, Joao Pedro scored the winner versus Aston Villa and is the fourth-best forward for this season’s box touches (181). Whereas Lyle Foster was unable to convert any of his four shots – including one big chance – at home to Newcastle.

In midfield, Justin Kluivert costs just £4.6m but has four goals in his last 10 matches. Team-mate Dominic Solanke was unable to get his big chance past Arsenal stopper David Raya but premium asset Mohamed Salah showed that he still has life left in him.

Despite being FPL’s most-sold player for two successive Gameweeks, the Egyptian bagged a goal and two assists against Spurs.
