Which players are due a goal in Gameweek 34?

Picking out the players that look likely to score in an FPL gameweek is a big part of management. Using recent underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout, we assess which players are due a goal in Gameweek 34.

Recent FPL goals

Some attackers are in great form over the last four Gameweeks:

However, others are shooting and getting in the right places without having either luck or end product. So let’s look at the players who have met the following criteria over these four:

  • No more than one goal
  • At least nine shots
  • At least two big chances
  • An expected goals (xG) tally of 1.10
  • An expected goal involvement (xGI) of 1.30

Due a goal in Gameweek 34

Written before tonight’s clash between Chelsea and Everton, several names remain from last week’s selection. For example, Dominik Szoboszlai was restricted to a second-half appearance but Ivan Toney was a completely unused substitute.

One player who isn’t due anymore is Eberechi Eze. The Crystal Palace midfielder prepared perfectly for their Double Gameweek 34 by scoring the only goal in a shock win at Liverpool.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the pitch, Darwin Nunez again frustrated his owners. He has one goal from three matches, despite accumulating 15 shots and 29 penalty area touches. There’s pessimism over his Double 34 minutes now that Diogo Jota is back. Pre-injury, the latter bagged five goals and four assists in seven matches – just 421 minutes, in fact.

In even worse form than Darwin is Julian Alvarez. Without a goal in 10 league outings, he’s racked up 14 shots five big chances in his last three.

The table above includes so many missed shots. March’s Player of the Month Rodrigo Muniz had a brilliant streak of eight goals in eight games but has followed it with three successive blanks that have included 12 box shots.

Another new name is Pablo Sarabia in time for Double 34. Although there’s a slight possibility that Matheus Cunha, Hwang Hee-chan and Rayan Ait-Nouri will form the Wolves’ front three.

As for Anthony Gordon, current owners will be delighted with his form – especially at St James’ Park. His 20 home attacking returns are more than anyone else throughout the league, delivering a trio of them in both of his latest two. Furthermore, the attacker has great-looking fixtures from Gameweek 35 onwards.
