Which players are due a goal in Gameweek 32?

Picking out the players that look likely to score in an FPL gameweek is a big part of management. Using recent underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout, we assess which players are due a goal in Gameweek 32.

Recent FPL goals

Some attackers are in great form over their last four matches:

However, others are shooting and getting in the right places without having either luck or end product. So let’s look at the players who have met the following criteria over their last four league appearances:

  • No more than one goal
  • At least nine shots
  • At least two big chances
  • An expected goals (xG) tally of 1.00
  • An expected goal involvement (xGI) of 1.20

The headline name from last week’s list, Dominic Solanke (£5.5m), went on to score once and assist twice during Bournemouth’s dramatic 3-2 win at Spurs.

It followed a period where no player had more attempts, shots on target or xG than him between Gameweeks 28 to 30. Next up, they host West Ham in a fixture set to catch the eye of many Free Hit users.

Of the others, neither Kai Havertz (£7.5m) nor Marcus Rashford (£7.1m) took part, which is why they remain on this week’s list.

It’s just unfortunate to be full of names from teams set to blank in Gameweek 32 – Chelsea, Manchester United and Brighton and Hove Albion.

Even so, it could be saved by one person. An individual whose last four games stretch back to Gameweek 19 but who might return to action at the weekend.

Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£7.9m) has been plagued by injuries but manager Sean Dyche thinks he could face Crystal Palace.

“Dom’s going well which is a positive. He’ll be back hopefully in the thinking this week as long as the week goes well. He’s had a very good week, we want him to have another and then we’ll see how he’s feeling.” – Sean Dyche

The trip looks a lot tougher now the Eagles have been rejuvenated under Roy Hodgson. Everton will need to use everything they have in order to grab three valuable points.
