Which players are due a goal in Gameweek 30?

Picking out the players that look likely to score in an FPL gameweek is a big part of management. Using recent underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout, we assess which players are due a goal in Gameweek 30.

Recent FPL goals

Some attackers are in great form over their last four matches:

However, others are shooting and getting in the right places without having either luck or end product. So let’s look at the players who have met the following criteria over their last four league appearances:

  • No more than one goal
  • At least nine shots
  • At least two big chances
  • An expected goals (xG) tally of 1.10
  • An expected goal involvement (xGI) of 1.30

Due a goal in Gameweek 30

We’ve still got a long way to go in Double Gameweek 29 but, from last week’s five names, there’s already been some success. Gabriel Jesus scored twice for Arsenal against Leeds, whilst Bryan Mbeumo bagged a pair of assists in Brentford’s first outing.

Seven matches remain and this is where we stand.

The list of names has dramatically whittled down over the past few gameweeks. Now there are only three, with Eddie Nketiah and Dominic Calvert-Lewin untouched from last time due to injury.

Although the Everton forward could take part against Tottenham tonight, Arsenal have already played their one match of this round.

As for Joe Willock, he’s becoming a very interesting FPL asset – albeit it might be too late to jump onto him. Six shots took place versus Man United and three were deemed big chances before he finally got on the scoresheet by heading home from close range.

It follows two assists from the previous two outings, putting him on 23 FPL points over three games. Whilst it’s not quite his freakish seven-match scoring streak that ended 2020/21, Willock still looks good value for a cheap fifth midfielder.
