When Will UCL Fantasy Launch?
When will UCL Fantasy launch? It’s a question that many within the Champions League Fantasy community will be asking themselves. In this article we take a look at the key dates and recent launches to try and answer that question.
As we gear up for another season of Champions League football fantasy managers are keenly waiting for the UCL Fantasy launch. Patience is running out and the community can’t wait to see what UEFA have changed to grapple with the new structure.
Key Dates
Taking a look at the Champions League 24/25 campaign key dates could be a good indicator as to when the game will launch.
With the above in mind the schedule ahead is as follows:
- First Qualifying Round: July 9th-17th
- Second Qualifying Round: July 23rd-31st
- Third Qualifying Round: August 6th-13th
- Play-offs: 20th-28th August
- Matchday 1: September 17th -19th
- Matchday 2: October 1st-2nd
- Matchday 3: October 22nd-23rd
- Matchday 4: November 5th-6th
- Matchday 5: November 26th-27th
- Matchday 6: December 10th-11th
- Matchday 7: January 21st-22nd
- Matchday 8: January 29th 2025
UCL Fantasy covers Matchday 1 onwards so it should launch before September 17th. But, it usually launces well before.
Previous Launch Dates
We went back in time and plucked out @FPLReaction’ post from the 22/23 season. You can see that UCL Fantasy launched on August 11th which was around a month before Matchday 1 started.
We also looked back at the 23/24 campaign and picked out our own post. As you can see from the date UCL Fantasy launched on August 17th in 2023. Interestingly that was also around a month earlier than Matchday 1.
Changes
Change is coming to the Champions League. This season UEFA have announced some big changes to the structure of the competition and you can check them all out in the video below.
Those changes will inevitably mean changes to UCL Fantasy and changes can take time to implement.
When Will UCL Fantasy Launch?
We know UCL Fantasy has to launch before Matchday 1 starts which is September 17th.
We also know that in both 22/23 and 23/24 UCL Fantasy launched around a month before Matchday 1.
However, the structure of the Champions League is changing this season which could delay the launch.
Taking everything into account we could well see UCL Fantasy launch as early as August 17th. But, don’t be surprised to see that launch delayed due to changes.
