When to Use Your First Triple Captain Chip in FPL 2025/26

Not sure when to use your first triple captain chip in FPL 2025/26, well you’re in the right place.
FPL have provided managers with two triple captain chips this season as part of a series of changes. This welcome addition gives the community more opportunities to utilise it rather than targeting Double Gameweeks.
Managers have until Gameweek 19 to use the first triple captain chip, but before we look at the best rounds to use the triple captain chip, we need to highlight the players reliable enough take on the responsibility:
Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland
Using the Fantasy Football Scout Members area we can see that both Liverpool and Manchester City ranked inside the top two sides last season for total goals scored. This was also the case for total attempts on goal and total shots on target.
This is a great indication that both teams could be worth trusting with a chip, but what of their assets?

Well, both Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland have been two of the most consistent assets in the league over the last two seasons.
Diving into their underlying attacking data we can see they both managed 20+ goals last time out. They also ranked above every other player in the league for total shots in the box and total big chances.

Now that we have our standout players, which opposition should we be targeting?
Teams to target
Knowing which teams to target is crucial to getting the most out of the triple captain chip.
Without looking, many would have guessed that promoted sides fit the bill, and they would be correct.
As we can see, all three promoted sides ranked bottom for total goals conceded last season. This was also the case for other key underlying defensive metrics.

With Burnley, Leeds and Sunderland all promoted to the Premier League this season, they should be our prime targets.
